From Siloed Rooms to a High-Performance Workplace Platform
Q-SYS redefines the AV platform at InfoComm 2026.
During InfoComm 2026, QSC, a market leader in audio, video, and control solutions, outlined a vision for the Q-SYS workplace portfolio that shifts the focus from individual, siloed rooms to a fully connected, data-rich platform.
“This shift represents the natural evolution of the company’s ‘Full Stack AV’ vision,'” said Patrick Heyn, VP of QSC Marketing. Q-SYS is doubling down on the software layer, prioritizing data, orchestration, and enterprise-wide intelligence. "We created some context and bones behind the idea that you should be using data in ways that stretch beyond the primary purpose of the devices.”
The New Architecture: Spanning the Landscape
The company’s latest launches—the Q-SYS RoomSuite Collaboration Bar and the Q-SYS Scheduling Panel—serve as primary proof points for this expanded vision of a platform that spans into collaboration spaces, communal areas, and high-impact environments within the high-performance workplace. Furthermore, these new devices are more than just hardware; they function as data-gathering endpoints within the larger platform.
The Q-SYS RoomSuite Collaboration Bar is a Windows-based device. Certified for Microsoft Teams, the solution features four high-resolution 50 MP cameras and a 16-element microphone array and is bundled with an 11-inch touchscreen controller. While it offers standard collaboration features, its true value lies in its integration with the wider Q-SYS Platform via Q-SYS Reflect.
"It’s so much more than bar," said Sanjay Kulkarni, VP of Product for QSC. "It’s a context-generating endpoint that feeds into the cognitive cloud layer of our platform, capable of generating insights and actions across the enterprise."
By installing these solutions across a facility, IT and facilities teams can gain a holistic view of building usage. When combined with the new 11-inch Q-SYS Scheduling Panel (QSP-11), which integrates with any Q-SYS system via Q-SYS Reflect, the platform effectively blankets the workplace, turning every interaction into a data point.
Data as the Differentiator
The broader shift toward a connected workplace hinges on the role of data. Kulkarni emphasized that data is not merely a collection of numbers; it is the foundation of orchestration.
"If you want to improve anything, you have to understand it," Kulkarni noted. "Data, context, inference, action—that is the process. You have to contextualize that data. Based on that, you infer what might be happening, and you understand the insights behind it. Only then can you take action."
This capability is further enhanced by QSC’s strategic integrations. By collaborating with Microsoft Places and ServiceNow, Q-SYS is breaking down the silos that typically separate AV data from IT and facilities management. For instance, sensors in a room can detect whether a space is occupied or ready for the next meeting, feeding that information directly into facility workflows.
To support this level of integration and scale, QSC has recently re-architected its Q-SYS Reflect cloud-based monitoring and management platform to run on a more modern IT infrastructure. This transition is not just about hosting; it is about preparing the platform to handle the complex, global requirements of Fortune 500 customers, including regionalized data hosting and stringent security compliance.
"There is an intelligent design behind it that requires forethought and trust that a platform provider has your back in terms of its overarching vision for the future," Heyn said. "They know that our solutions are designed to do more for them tomorrow than they will today. That is the inherent value of the software-defined platform."
Scaling Beyond the Room
While the collaboration space remains a key focus, Q-SYS is also leveraging its history in hospitality and entertainment to scale beyond the meeting room. The launch of the Q-SYS NVM Series video endpoints represents a push into larger, distributed environments where video distribution has historically been complex and expensive.
"QSC cut its teeth in hospitality," Heyn explained. "We built Q-SYS to support some of the biggest hospitality venues on the planet. Up until this point, video distribution for thousands of endpoints was often handled by third-party video solutions. We are asking: why would you build these larger video solutions beside the platform when you can build it within the platform?"
The Q-SYS NVM Series includes the NVM-302E encoder and NVM-302D decoder, delivering high-quality, low-bandwidth network video. By leveraging the same native Q-SYS platform used for DSP configuration and routing, these endpoints allow designers to maintain a consistent workflow, whether they are outfitting a single huddle room or a multi-story convention center.
The thrust of the innovation came at the software layer, by addressing the designing and programming complexities that have plagued large-scale deployments. NVM Designer, for example, is a no-code software configuration tool within Q-SYS Designer Software that will allow an integrator to configure (and update) hundreds of endpoints in minutes.
The Path Forward
For organizations looking to optimize workplace environments, the shift to a truly connected platform offers the potential for greater efficiency, productivity, and a future-ready infrastructure. Kulkarni and Heyn demonstrated, the tools to achieve this, whether through collaboration bars, scheduling panels, or large-scale video endpoints are already here. They just require a shift in perspective, viewing the entire workplace as a single, orchestrated system.
