Utah Governor, Salt Lake County Mayor Issue AV Week Proclamations

  • BLUFFDALE, UT--Listen Technologies Corporation announced that the week of October 18-24, 2009 has been proclaimed “AV Week” by both the Governor of Utah and the Salt Lake County Mayor. Both proclamations state the impact of the audiovisual industry on everyday lives, noting AV applications in architecture, medicine, government proceedings, education, entertainment and business.
  • “The general public may not be aware of the everyday benefits provided to them by the AV industry,” said Cory Schaeffer, vice president of sales and marketing at Listen. “We at Listen feel that AV Week is a great way to raise awareness of our industry and to spark interest in careers in AV.” Listen has scheduled educational and entertainment events throughout the week including a webinar, an “AV Jeopardy” event at the Listen offices, and a tour of a museum exhibit that incorporates AV technologies in the artists’ presentations.
  • To raise awareness of AV Week, Ms. Schaeffer petitioned both the State of Utah and the County of Salt Lake to issue proclamations. “This isn’t just about Listen Technologies,” she said. “Utah is a hotbed of manufacturing and AV design, ranging from wireless audio to loudspeaker design to videoconferencing, along with some of the industry’s best consultants and system integrators. Their designs, products and systems provide a positive impact on lives both in Utah and throughout the world. We encourage our fellow AV companies to become involved in promoting AV Week with activities of their own.”
