When the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicked off this summer, employees at City National Bank’s new Financial Center headquarters found themselves gathering in the breakroom—because the breakroom features a 32x9-foot, 0.9mm pixel pitch dvLED video wall, driven by a CALICO PRO video processor from tvONE.

The wall is the centerpiece of the recently completed first phase of a building-wide AV deployment by integrator Avology. The headquarters was designed to pair intuitive operation with a premium aesthetic while providing the infrastructure headroom to keep expanding. Working closely with City National Bank, its architects, consultants and trade partners, Avology delivered complete audiovisual integration services—including system engineering, project management, installation, programming, commissioning, testing and end-user training—under the leadership of CEO Jorge Miralles and COO Andrew Menendez.

Phase 1 of the project included audiovisual systems deployed across more than 30 conference rooms, huddle spaces, and training rooms, all designed to provide a consistent Microsoft Teams Room experience and intuitive presentation capabilities throughout the building. However, it was the breakroom that was conceived as something more: the building’s town square, hosting company-wide meetings, employee communications, live presentations, and major events. Driving its dvLED wall is the CALICO PRO C7-PRO-2200.

Image quality, reliability, and flexibility were key considerations, noted Miralles. “The tvONE CALICO PRO provides the processing performance required to drive the high-resolution dvLED display while enabling multiple content sources to be displayed simultaneously without compromising image quality or latency," he added.

That processing headroom lets City National Bank switch between a wide range of content on the same canvas: corporate branding, executive presentations, live events, financial dashboards, digital signage, Microsoft Teams meetings, employee communications, and live television broadcasts.

“Its layout management functionality also provides the flexibility to adapt content configurations in the future without replacing hardware, helping to protect the bank’s investment over the long term,” noted Miralles.

Following commissioning, Avology trained City National Bank staff on room operation, presentation workflows and general system functionality—though by design, most employees barely need it. The systems, added Menendez, were designed to be intuitive, allowing employees to operate meeting rooms and presentation spaces with minimal training, while AV support personnel retain access to centralized management tools for future configuration requirements.

“From the early design discussions through commissioning, tvONE’s technical staff has been responsive, knowledgeable, and readily available whenever assistance was required,” concluded Miralles. “Their support has helped streamline deployment and ensure the system performs exactly as intended.”

Welcome to February. January went out with a flurry of Pro AV news and the new month is coming at us with several big stories. In the words of LeBron James, this past Monday, there was not one, not two, but three Pro AV companies announcing acquisitions.

Audiotonix Acquires Three Audio Brands

The first sees Audiotonix acquiring DPA Microphones, Wisycom, and Austrian Audio. All three brands now join the growing Audiotonix brand portfolio of leading audio technology and solutions companies that includes Allen & Heath, Calrec, DiGiCo, DiGiGrid, Fourier Audio, Group One Limited, Harrison, JH Audio, KLANG:technologies, Slate Digital, Solid State Logic, sonible, and Sound Devices.

“With the development work we have been investing in with Sound Devices, it makes technological sense to add Wisycom to the team," explained James Gordon, CEO of Audiotonix. "The next logical step is to move closer to the performer with microphones, and DPA as a premium brand is the ultimate choice. Austrian Audio, with their decades of microphone and headset design experience, have immense potential and will help complement our existing and future portfolio. Ricoh's Second Acquisition This Year

In its second acquisition in less than a month, SCN Top 50 systems integrator Ricoh was at it again. The company acquired ET Group, a Canadian workplace technology and collaboration integrator. This strategic acquisition by Ricoh Canada accelerates Ricoh’s expansion into high‑growth digital services, strengthens its position as a leading provider of end‑to‑end workplace experience solutions in Canada, and reinforces its global strategy to support an evolving workplace environment. Virtual Technologies Group also announced an acquisition, acquiring Whitlock Infrastructure Solutions, a software solutions and IT services firm specializing in IT operations management for enterprise organizations. DMF Lighting Strengthens Marketing Leadership

DMF Lighting announced key marketing leadership updates designed to support continued portfolio expansion, channel engagement, and long-term growth across both indoor and outdoor lighting solutions.

As part of this strategic evolution, Stephen Roome has transitioned into the role of senior marketing manager, HK Luxury, DMF Lighting’s sister company focused on architectural outdoor and landscape lighting marketing manager, integrator channel, assuming responsibility for marketing strategy and execution supporting the company’s custom integration partners.

Roome has been with DMF Lighting since 2021, most recently serving as CI channel marketing manager. Lynn is focusing on programs, campaigns, and tools that align DMF’s product innovation with how integrators specify, sell, and deploy lighting solutions. Her responsibilities include driving data-informed marketing initiatives that support dealer engagement, demand generation, and long-term channel success.

Hewschott Transitions Daniel Lee to Group CEW 

Hewshott, a global AV, IT, theater, and acoustics consultancy firm, has completed a global transition with current UK managing director, Daniel Lee, acquiring Hewshott and becoming the new Group CEO. Under his ownership, Hewshott will continue its 24-year legacy of independence, ethical conduct, and exceptional client experience. Founder and outgoing Group CEO Peter Hunt will continue as MD of Hewshott Australia, while maintaining his industry association roles.

The leadership transition has been strategically planned to foster stability, continuity, and create new opportunities. Building on the foundations instilled by Hunt from day one, Lee plans to evolve and amplify the company’s global capability to be unified, visible, and influential, all while staying true to the same core principles that define the Hewshott way.

L-Acoustics Appoints Olivier Maynard as Executive Director of Strategic Market Development

L-Acoustics has appointed Olivier Maynard as executive director of strategic market development and significantly expanded the recently established division’s capabilities to accelerate growth across key vertical markets worldwide. Neutrik Americas Appoints Sigma Component Design New Distributor

AudioControl has announced the appointment of Habitech as master distributor of the brand’s AV entertainment solutions in the United Kingdom. Habitech is currently the distributor for RTI in the U.K. Based in Hampshire, England, and founded in 2006, Habitech specializes in supplying a broad range of custom install products and services to technology integrators representing home entertainment, smart home control and lighting, networking, and more to end-users.

AVPro Global appointed Generation AV as its representation for the AVPro Edge and RTI brands in Asia. Founded in 2019 and based in Singapore, Generation AV offers decades of combined experience in the professional audio/video, control, and automation markets. In addition to strategic sales and business development, the Generation AV team delivers technical support and application engineering services to partners, integrators, and customers—assisting with product selection, system design, project support, and troubleshooting. Additionally, the company appointed LCAVI as their distributor of residential audio, video, and control solutions, representing the AudioControl, AVPro Edge, and RTI brands in France.

LEA Professional announces its partnership with distributor Televic Conference France, which will help expand LEA Professional’s commercial reach throughout Europe by providing better access to French customers. Televic Conference France will represent LEA's extensive technology catalog. Through this partnership, Televic Conference France will offer LEA Professional’s Network Connect series of professional amplifiers and companion Dante Connect series featuring Dante and AES67 connectivity. The comany also announced a newfound partnership with Dubai-based distributor Pro Lab Trading. The partnership will bring LEA to customers in the Middle East Region. Pro Lab Trading is the region’s one-stop shop for professional audio, lighting, staging, rigging, and special effects equipment and supplies.

Legrand | AV expanded its global partnership with TD SYNNEX. This enhanced collaboration reinforces a joint go-to-market strategy for Legrand | AV’s portfolio of industry-leading brands, including Chief, C2G, Da-Lite, Middle Atlantic, Luxul, and Vaddio. As part of this expanded agreement, TD SYNNEX Maverick, TD SYNNEX’s specialist AV, UC, and digital signage division, will now offer the full Legrand | AV brand portfolio across its entire European footprint.

PureLink announced a new strategic partnership with AVer Information Europe. The cooperation establishes a structured cable and signal management certification program for AVer systems, designed to improve installation reliability in enterprise, education, and public-sector environments. Through this partnership, PureLink’s portfolio of solutions for video conferencing, workspace connectivity, and USB-C–based signal management will be aligned and validated for use with AVer cameras, video matrices, AV hubs and USB-based collaboration systems.

RTI appointed Aquila Data Singapore as their distributor for commercial solutions in Singapore. Aquila Data Group was founded in 2001 and is based in Jakarta, Indonesia, with offices in Singapore and Malaysia. The company specializes in distribution of Unified Communication (UC) and Audio Visual (AV) devices, providing solutions such as video conferencing, audiovideo (AV), and smart technology integration. Additionally, Stars AV is its new distributor for RTI residential and commercial solutions in Spain and Portugal. Stars AV already represents AVPro Global brands AudioControl and AVPro Edge in the territory.

Solid State Logic appointed Commercial Audio as its distributor in the Czech Republic and Slovakia regions. Zoox: The Official Autonomous Ride-Hail Partner of the Vegas Sphere

Sphere Entertainment and Zoox, the autonomous ride-hailing company, announced a multi-faceted partnership that will make Zoox the official autonomous ride-hail partner of Sphere. As part of this partnership, the venue will have a dedicated autonomous vehicle ride-hail pick-up and drop off zone at Sphere, where guests will be able to utilize Zoox’s robotaxi ride-hail services through the Zoox app.

Zoox is creating a unique way to explore Las Vegas in a purpose-built robotaxi that gives riders back time, space, and choice. Aun rejoins FOR-A after serving as a system consultant, specializing in IP and cloud solutions, at Riedel Communications. Earlier in his career, he was deputy sales engineering manager at FOR-A Corporation in Tokyo, where he supervised international system integrations, including projects for the New World Symphony in Miami and large-scale U.S. houses of worship.

Mike Case Joins PK Sound

PK Sound has welcomed pro audio industry veteran Mike Case to its team in the role of director of global network and partnerships. Based in the U.K., Case brings a strong history of establishing disruptive new technologies and advancing brands to the Calgary-based manufacturer.

In his new role, Case leads the company’s growing international network in further expanding the brand’s profile and reach. Case played a pivotal role in the analog-to-digital transformation of the live sound industry, helping to redefine how modern touring and event audio systems are deployed and managed. He worked with Yamaha Commercial Audio to introduce the world’s first large format digital mixing console, the PM1D, and later joined Digidesign (now Avid), to launch the Venue console series before moving to d&b audiotechnik. tvONE Strengthens NCSA Sales Team 

tvONE has expanded its North, Central, and South America (NCSA) sales team with the appointment of two new regional sales managers. Steve Payne joins as Midwest regional sales manager, and Mike Dailey takes on the role of Northeast regional sales manager,

Based in Chicago, Payne brings 20 years of AV industry experience. ADI Celebrates Grand Opening of New Support Center in Charlotte

ADI Global Distribution celebrated the grand opening of its new Support Center in Charlotte, located at the Panorama Tower in Ballantyne, NC. Spanning 41,000 square feet across two floors, the new facility is home to more than 180 team members representing marketing, accounting, product development, education, training, and other key departments.

The new Charlotte Support Center marks the relocation of the former Snap One headquarters. Following the acquisition of Snap One in 2024 and the integration into ADI, this site was selected to continue supporting the experienced team based in the area, while creating a modern, sustainable, and collaborative workspace that aligns with ADI’s brand and values.

Home of Munich's Bayern Basketball team, the FC Bayern Basketball Arena was transformed into an immersive concert venue for this year’s special edition of Schlagerboom, a celebration of Germany’s hit pop music.

Augmented reality (AR) effects, a huge LED stage driven by Green Hippo’s Hippotizer Media Servers, numerous state-of-the-art light projections and laser beams, combined with each audience member wearing lighted wristbands, created a ‘sea of light’ that delivered a night to remember.

Driving an Immersive Concert Experience

Jürgens TV produced the event for Bayerischer Rundfunk, and commissioned content production studio LUPIXX to create the video elements. The visuals were designed to enhance each song, visually expand the stage, and create a sense of depth. LUPIXX Visual Artist and Managing Director Saskia Olma, ramped up the video elements by integrating a tracked Spidercam with augmented reality.

Manipulating the video effects and AR elements were two Hippotizer Tierra+ MK2, three Hippotizer Boreal+ MK2 and one Hippotizer Boreal+ Media Servers, supplied by ICT.

“We needed fast and reliable machines that we can count on, and the Hippotizer Media Servers were rock-solid at every moment, allowing us to bring our creative ideas to life seamlessly,” said Olma. “We used stYpe as the tracking system for the Spidercam, and its integration with Hippotizer is well-tested, stable, and always on point. stYpe enabled us to achieve unparalleled precision and accuracy in their camera movements, resulting in a seamless integration of virtual and real-world elements.”

German singer Florian Silbereisen hosted the televised show, introducing a range of acts including Andrea Berg, Howard Carpendale, and Bonnie Tyler.

“The show’s setup was highly challenging due to limited rehearsal time and a dynamic stage configuration,” added Olma. “We had platforms that were arranged differently for each song, which meant that, in addition to our creative content, we had to integrate on-screen markers to help the crew position the platforms precisely. This required extensive coordination in advance. Each song received custom-tailored content adapted to the specific platform setup. The augmented reality elements visually extended the floor visuals and provided additional support.”

Working with ICT’s Project Manager, Martin Fröhner, to ensure a smooth technical workflow, Olma and her team created the content primarily in Notch, with the help of Cinema 4D, and rendered it in Notch LC. On the team were four Content Designers: Vlad Befus, Giulia Bowinkel, and Friedemann Banz; and Saskia Olma, who was responsible for content creation and direction for Ludwig Mond at Jürgens TV.

Another week in Pro AV brings yet another big acquisition. Yorktel, along with One Equity Partners, announced an agreement to combine with Kinly last Tuesday, Aug. 12. Also, on August 13, 2025, 26North Partners LP announced the completion of the acquisition of a controlling stake in AVI-SPL from Marlin Equity Partners and other selling shareholders. Marlin and select shareholders will retain a minority interest in the company. Financial terms were not disclosed. The agreement was announced in June. We covered that news here and Cindy Davis of AV Technology interviewed CEO John Zettel in June when news of the coming acquisition broke.

INFiLED Opens Chicago Showroom

RGB Spectrum and Wildfire Technology Integration Forge Strategic Partnership

RGB Spectrum and Wildfire Technology Integration, a nationwide AV integrator, have joined forces to deliver next-generation visualization and command solutions to public safety agencies around the globe. Together, the two companies are focused on enhancing real-time decision-making environments, combining RGB Spectrum’s high-reliability video display and KVM solutions with Wildfire Technology’s expert design, integration, and support services. The result is a seamless and scalable approach that equips operators, dispatchers, and field personnel with the visual intelligence they need—when and where they need it.

An immediate example of this partnership in action is the recent deployment at the Clovis Police Department (PD) in California. To meet the evolving demands of situational awareness, Clovis PD launched a new Real Time Information Center (RTIC), purpose-built to unify surveillance, dispatch, and field operations data into a single, flexible visualization environment.

tvONE Launches Pixel Academy

tvONE has launched its Pixel Academy, a new center for AV training that blends professional AV technology with expert-led, hands-on instruction. From advanced signal processing to seamless video distribution and multi-window solutions, Pixel Academy is built to empower the next generation of AV innovators.

Strategically located at tvONE’s R&D Innovation Centre in Maidenhead, just 20 minutes from London Heathrow, Pixel Academy offers easy access for AV professionals across the UK and Europe. The training facility features the company’s latest high-performance solutions, including the award-winning CALICO PRO and CORIOmaster2 video processors, as well as a full array of LED displays in both traditional and creative formats.

A significant installation of tvONE CORIOmaster video processors at the Virginia Tech State University has transformed how students learn, and lessons are taught.

[All the School Is a Stage]

Four distinct areas within the institution’s Alexandria campus now feature LED screens, projections, or displays driven by a range of CORIOmaster2, CORIOmaster mini, and CORIOmaster micro units. The project is part of a wider upgrade of projector screens, LED video walls, and TVs.

Virginia Tech’s AB1 AV manager Diego Romero worked closely with the tvONE’s Mid-Atlantic regional sales manager Mitch Klein to find solutions for all four spaces at the Alexandria campus’s Academic Building One. This building includes 300,000 square feet of academic space and cutting-edge research and development facilities, across 11-floors.

“The overall aim was to provide users with a smooth experience when sharing their content on displays that have non-standard aspect ratios and where multiple pieces of content could be shown at the same time,” explained Romero. “Prior experience with tvONE in other installations led us to selecting the company again, and by understanding the capabilities and relevant successes we’ve had with tvONE products, we knew selecting tvONE would help us reach the desired functionality at Academic Building One’s data-driven spaces.”

The four areas that were the focus of the installation are the AI & Machine Learning Lab, the Boeing Auditorium, the K-12 Gaming Lab, and the Lobby video wall.

“In the AI & Machine Learning Lab, we installed a tvONE CORIOmaster micro, opting for a CORIOmaster mini in the Boeing Auditorium,” explained Romero. “We specified a CORIOmaster2 in the K-12 Gaming Lab and a second CORIOmaster micro to cover the Lobby video wall. Each of the devices provides the right amount of processing and features. For example, AI & Machine Learning Lab and Lobby video wall are basic applications with a small number of inputs/outputs, meaning that the CORIOmaster micro was just enough for those spaces."

Inside the AI & Machine Learning Lab, LED video walls allow users to share content from a laptop while comparing results of AI or ML models that are being generated by a more powerful computer, side by side.

Over in the Boeing Auditorium, users can use five windows for content on a 60-foot-wide projection screen and select the content for each window individually.

At the K-12 Gaming Lab, users can drive a six-display video wall or display one large image spanning four different displays, as well as break up the image being displayed on the 98" displays into four smaller windows.

Down in the Lobby, the video wall is a display where the marketing team can create and play impressive content on a non-standard aspect ratio, as well as use it for regular digital signage and presentations when needed.

“I didn't have prior experience of using the CORIOmaster range of video processors but managed to figure out the basics on my own,” added Romero. “Most of the initial setup and programming was done by our main programmer and I fine-tuned the devices to match what we wanted to see on the screens.”

AVI-SPL supplied the tvONE equipment for AI&ML, Boeing, and Lobby video wall. RTW supplied the CORIOmaster 2 in the K-12 Gaming Lab.

“We mainly focus on using different layouts and recalling them depending on the desired use case for that moment,” concluded Romero. “Once we figured out how the windows in the CORIOmaster interacted with the general output of the system, it was a matter of just lining them all up with fine corrections. This made the process of aligning and setting up all the images for the K-12 Gaming Lab a much smoother process."

Powersoft Strengthens U.S. Team

Powersoft has appointed Troy Bornman as Central regional sales manager. With more than 28 years of experience in professional audio sales, business development, and client support, Bornman will lead sales efforts and cultivate key integrator relationships across the Central United States.

Bornman joins Powersoft amid the company’s ongoing efforts to expand its presence in North America and reinforce its support of the U.S. audiovisual integration market. His appointment is part of Powersoft’s broader strategy to grow its regional teams, strengthen partnerships and deliver localized support for integrators, consultants and end users across a variety of vertical markets.

Bornman spent 28 years at Harman International, where he held multiple leadership positions, including Senior Manager of Business Development for National Special Projects and Application Support. He also served as Manager of Large Venue Accounts and Territory Sales Manager, supporting major deployments in theme parks, stadiums, and transportation infrastructure. His previous roles at Harman also included Manager of Large Venue Accounts and Territory Sales Manager, where he was responsible for sales and project management in high-profile, large-scale installations. For businesses, schools, or government agencies expanding their networks or deploying new systems where separate monitors and media players were once required, this compatibility reduces costs by turning Sony and Philips displays into all-in-one Carousel media player solutions.

Users can configure the displays as dedicated media players or Carousel Express Players. A dedicated media player unlocks the full suite of Carousel’s capabilities—dynamic content, video playback, and emergency messages—and uses a player license. For organizations prioritizing simplicity and scale, the Carousel Express Player offers a lightweight alternative—it displays a streamlined version of a Carousel channel without consuming a paid license.

BMG Launches First Cloud Network Operations Center with Grass Valley Technology

Grass Valley announced an expanded partnership with Broadcast Management Group (BMG), a U.S.-based video production company, that will see Grass Valley solutions integrated across operations at BMG’s new centralized cloud Network Operations Center (NOC), in Washington, D.C. The new NOC has been built to support BMG’s managed services and live production clients, adding to its first Cloud Broadcast Center and fleet of REMI mobile units built between 2021 and 2025.  

BMG is a full-service global broadcast media company that provides a wide range of managed services to networks, film studios, agencies and corporations, and provides live production services for large-scale news, sports, music, and entertainment events. The company began renovating its new NOC facility in August 2024 and is now in the process of installing the systems and technology for its data center, master control, media asset management, transmissions, insert studio, post-production, and video and audio control rooms. 

The deployment comprises Grass Valley’s Kayenne K-Frame production switchers, LDX 135 cameras, and will soon include the AMPP platform, including the Framelight X asset management system and other AMPP applications.  

RGB Spectrum and Gemstar Manufacturing Partner to Deliver Tactical Operations Units

RGB Spectrum announced a collaboration with Gemstar Manufacturing, a specialist in rugged protective packaging, to deliver the IPX Flyaway Kit—a lightweight, fully integrated mobile command center designed for mission-critical deployments.

Disguise Appoints Jake Stone as New SVP of Commercial

Disguise has appointed Jake Stone as its SVP of commercial. In this role, Stone leads the global sales and business development teams as they meet increased demand for Disguise’s offering, which drives location-based experiences like Top of the Rock in New York City and live concert visuals for artists like Adele, as well as providing virtual production services for films like “A Minecraft Movie.”

A Forbes '30 Under 30' honoree, Stone most recently served as co-founder and chief revenue officer at CHEQ, where he led the company to 10 times year-over-year revenue growth before its acquisition by Cantaloupe. Prior to that, he was chief revenue officer at Independent Sports & Entertainment, where he launched the Properties division and secured over $35 million in new business. Stone has also held leadership roles at Disney and ESPN Media Networks, as well as Infront Sports & Media and has negotiated over $2 billion in partnerships across enterprise technology and content licensing.

Stone’s experience enables Disguise to push the envelope even further in the spheres of live events and shows, virtual production and broadcast, as well as location-based experiences and themed entertainment.

Yvonne Ho becomes President of PAMA Board of Directors

Yvonne Ho has become president of The Professional Audio Manufacturers Alliance (PAMA)’s Board of Directors for a two-year term. Ho succeeds Chris Regan (RF Venue) in the role, while Regan remains on the board as a director.

Ho is the co-founder and chief marketing officer of Point Source Audio, a manufacturer of innovative professional miniature microphones and audio headsets that have been used on premier stages across the globe, including on Broadway and in other top-tier theatrical and live sound productions. Its commitment to quality and innovation has earned the company a reputation as a trusted partner for sound engineers and professionals in the entertainment industry.

Dallas’s Southern Methodist University has upgraded its Emergency Operations Center with a series of fine pitch LED displays, all driven by tvONE’s ultra-powerful CALICO PRO video processor.

The new EOC is the hub for security for the entire facility, encompassing all the university’s in-house fire, police, security, ambulance and cameras. Three dvLED screens, ranging from a 1.25mm 1620x5760 to a 1.9mm Studio—1024 x 3584 and 108-inch AIO—1080x1920 were installed by Uber Displays, in collaboration with AV technology partner Digital Resources, which oversaw the project.

“The creation of a new EOC for SMU provided the opportunity to have all operating systems in one location and the video processing solution needed to be robust and reliable, which is why we turned to tvONE and the new CALICO PRO,” said Andrew Rice from Uber Displays. “The installation required 20 separate inputs, which we needed to replicate to three separate walls. That is why we chose tvONE and specifically the CALICO PRO, which we first learned about through Mitch Rosenberg at tvONE, who I have worked with in the past. He understands our needs and set up a demo on the CALICO PRO product and we were sold.”

“We worked closely with Scott Kehoe from tvONE to rig the system and provide training on-site—Scott’s a rockstar, we love him,” added Rice. “tvONE are always responsive and the training was complete in two days—it was amazing. One of the biggest successes of the project is that using the CALICO PRO, all the cameras from the entire campus can be shown on the displays at any time, which is very impressive.”

The EOC will be run by SMU University and their video staff on a day-to-day basis. “The SMU EOC was a great project to work on, and it’s great to see the CALICO PRO’s features being used for such an important Center at the school," Kehoe commented. "We designed the CALICO PRO from the ground up, creating a solution for a wide range of video processing applications with new features for easier and faster installation of complex Direct View LED walls. The results at the EOC are great.”

The crisis management function provides a coordinated response to emergencies involving the use of resources from the university, federal level, state level, or local authority. The university has established the EOC framework consistent with Department of Homeland Security, National Incident Management System and the Texas Division of Emergency Management involving SMU emergency responders and local authority.

Well, March opened without a major Pro AV acquisition, a rarity thus far in 2025. There were still six more personnel moves and a bevy of partnerships which highlighted the week that was.

Darrin Young, known in the pro audio industry as B-SIDE, has joined the dBTechnologies USA as the new director of sales for North America. Young brings a wealth of expertise and a fresh perspective to his new role, with a proven track record in sales, marketing, training, and driving strategic market growth.

His professional career in the pro audio industry began in 1999 with Stanton Magnetics, where he played a key role in the company’s growth into the Stanton Group—a portfolio that includes brands like Cerwin-Vega, KRK Systems, and Stanton DJ. He has worked with Gibson's Pro Audio Division and rose through the ranks at DAS Audio of America, to VP of sales and marketing. Von Rentzell comes to Lectrosonics from an extensive background in the pro audio and musical instrument industry. Beginning with a fine arts education, he helped record such notable artists as singer Jennifer Hudson at staple Chicago studios like Pressure Point and Urban Recording. A stint as sales and training manager at a Guitar Center store led to brand opportunities, including managerial sales positions with microphone manufacturers BLUE and Aston. Recently, was also the sole U.S. representative for Dotterel Technologies, a company specializing in isolation mics designed to capture sound in high-noise applications such as drone-mounting.

tvONE Expands Sales Team with Key Appointments in the U.S. and Europe

tvONE appointed Michael Huth as Southeast regional sales manager in the United States and Oli Fritz as regional sales manager for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland).

Huth’s appointment comes after Jonathan Begleiter, former Southeast regional sales manager, was promoted to the director of sales (NCSA) position earlier this year. He brings extensive experience from the projector, display, and dvLED industry, having worked with manufacturers such as Panasonic, Vanguard LED, Salitek, and MAXHUB. His background also includes hands-on expertise as a technical video specialist with the Walt Disney World Company and in the rental and staging Industry.

When the Utah Department of Transportation decided an update was necessary for the primary display capabilities at the Traffic Operations Center in Salt Lake City, they knew that just as it would be for any road emergency, it was best to call in the “Pros.” To the rescue was AVPro Edge, a manufacturer of high-performance connectivity products engineered to provide professional audio/video installers with the best solutions they must have to address every scenario, alongside leading Salt Lake City integrator, TVS Pro, and their chief technology officer, Dalton Parker. For this project, TVS Pro chose MXnet 1G, one of the AVPro Edge Audio Video over Internet Protocol (AVoIP) ecosystems, to connect with, distribute, and manage traffic camera feeds from Utah state roads and highways within the operations center.

As the nerve center from where more than 1,700 traffic cameras are monitored for any signs of incidents requiring a swift response, the Traffic Operations Center performs a 24/7/365 mission-critical role supporting Utah highway safety. And, with safety a key aspect of what was at stake, combined with long-haul reliability, Dalton specified AVPro Edge MXnet 1G products for routing the camera feeds across the complex. 

UDOT wished to replace its aging and dated rear-projection primary operations display system, originally installed by TVS Pro, with a newer type of video technology. The concept Parker’s team arrived at was a three-screen array centered by a massive multi-panel, cinema-dimensioned main display, flanked on each side by quite large auxiliary screens. The result is an impressively impactful, state-of-the-art control room and video wall that dutifully monitors the stimulating pulse of traffic flow all over the state. 

Camera information arrives from locations dotting the Utah landscape and is received by camera decoders equipped with HDMI outputs. A signal selected for more intrinsic viewing is patched via HDMI into one of 36 MXnet 1G encoders, all of which when combined serve to create a virtual matrix switcher for the 36 packetized, routable streams that are ferried across the network.  After routing, the streams are converted back into HDMI by MXnet 1G decoders. MXnet dispatches all signals at near-zero latency through its multicast routing, providing operators with low-delay switching for visually lossless camera images.

Using MXnet as a transformative virtual matrix, the MXnet 1G decoders subsequently supply camera content to 32 inputs of a tvONE CORIOmaster2 video wall processor, which generates a seamless video design canvas. Touch panel control enables operators to efficiently customize images to conform to the needs at hand, with overlay, picture-in-picture, multi-picture, and multi-size capabilities, or a solo full wall image. The CORIOmaster2 then passes all outputs through to an additional signal processor that interfaces with every display panel to provide connecting paths from the CORIOmaster2. 

For eco-conscious government agencies, a great deal of importance is placed on the environmental impact a wholesale equipment changeover might present, and often there are restrictive limits placed on the amount of additional power consumption a remodel or new project is allowed to assume. TVS Pro points to the highly efficient MXnet encoders and decoders as a decisive advantage over competitive products. Each unit siphons less than 5 operational watts from the power grid, running cool to the touch from clever utilization of the metal chassis frame working strategically with the main processing chip, and its top-mounted heatsink, to efficiently extract heat and disperse it quietly, fan-free, and noise-free.

In an effort to expand its reach in the Pro AV technology sector, ACT Entertainment has acquired tvONE, a Cincinnati-based video processing, signal distribution, and media playback solutions company with U.K.-based R&D and manufacturing. Among its brands is the Green Hippo line of media servers and digital display products, which tvONE acquired in 2018. tvONE’s existing management and structure will remain in place after the acquisition.

Since 2017, ACT Entertainment has completed multiple acquisitions, including RapcoHorizon and AC Power Distribution. The acquisition of tvONE, which has been in the Pro AV industry for more than 35 years, marks the first foray into video equipment for ACT Entertainment, a manufacturer and distributor of products for the entertainment industry. The acquisition follows the company’s recent move into the audio sector with distribution of PK Sound’s robotic line array systems.

Crazed sports fans, many of which have lavish setups in their own homes to watch the big game, have high expectations when visiting sports bars. The experience should be equal to—or sometimes better than—being at a game in person. Visitors to Chicago’s Wrigley Field stadium are being treated to just that with a massive 2,000-square-foot video screen at the new DraftKings Sportsbook, with game footage and betting information delivered by a tvONE CORIOmaster2 video processor and integrated by tvONE partner McCann Systems.

The expansive LED feature wall wraps around the space and is visible from practically any seat. DraftKings Sportsbook is a restaurant, bar, and sports betting facility and is connected to the historic Wrigley Field, home to the Chicago Cubs baseball team.

Upon realizing that the large LED screen would require many video sources to be displayed and have several preset layouts, immersive digital environments specialists McCann Systems specified tvONE’s CORIOmaster2 video processor, which is engineered to drive ‘more pixels than you will ever need’ with its high bandwidth CORIO2 processing.

“The processing power of the tvONE CORIOmaster2 allowed us to produce a combined video resolution of 16,320 x 1560 to cover the entire LED wall,” said Al Ragone, senior field applications engineer with McCann. “We are utilizing five outputs from the processor that all produce 4K resolution, which is fed to the main LED wall. We are also using the internal window processing of the unit to create up to 48 unique windows that can be displayed on the video wall across 24 different layouts and formats.”

The massive LED screen can display up to 24 sporting events at one time or provide a single expansive image for an immersive experience. Billed by developer Marquee Development as a ‘first-of-its-kind sportsbook’, the 17,000-square-foot venue can accommodate more than 670 people.

CORIOgraphed content consists of 12 unique DirecTV feeds, two cable TV feeds, four Apple TV streaming media players, six live feeds of betting odds provided by DraftKings, one streaming media player for the new DraftKings Network, and a pre-broadcast video feed of Chicago Cubs home games. The DraftKings staff operates the visuals on a day-to-day basis. McCann provided a thorough, in-person training to explain the capabilities and features of the entire AV system, which also features four-zone directional sound.

“The flexibility and capabilities of the tvONE CORIOmaster2 is extremely impressive,” said Wilson. “Feeding 48 unique windows of content require a massive amount of processing power. The number of layouts we were able to create was very impressive, which led to 24 different layouts that were made available to the client. Depending on the number of live events happening that day, the location of guests in the space, or the importance of a live event, the LED wall can be set up to create any type of viewing experience.”

Opened on Feb. 28, the new terminal at Kansas City International Airport (KCI) is gaining rave reviews. Part of what makes this terminal so futuristic is a Nanolumens Nixel Series dvLED video wall with 2.5mm pixel pitch that spans the airport check-in counter area. With more than 18 million pixels, the backwall includes 15 separate displays in seven different sizes to make up one large digital canvas.

The backwall provides check-in and drop-off agents with the ability to boldly display airline logos, lane queuing, and flight information data, plus update any other vital information as needed. A smaller Nanolumens Nixel Series 1.5mm dvLED video display, which measures almost 15 feet long and more than 5 feet tall, is positioned in the Arrivals area at the information desk.

“The architect and interior design teams were clear in their desire to have the backwall displays be a very specific size in order to fit their ticket counter plans and aesthetic,” said Geoff Berkeley, South Central regional sales manager, Nanolumens. “They were looking to have these displays fit flush to the wall but also into a particular size opening. A standard LED cabinet solution was not going to be able to meet their needs. Our Nanolumens Nixel Series can be completely customized to fit specific size requirements to provide for the design team’s intentions.”

Meanwhile, curbside arrival signage was provided by Nanolumens in partnership with Sign Resource. Ten 5.9mm Performance Series double-sided displays, measuring almost 6 feet wide and more than 3 feet tall, were also installed on posts to direct travelers to the correct airline’s check-in location.

All interior displays were installed by Dimensional Innovations of Overland Park, KS. In addition to the Nanolumens displays, the company provided three tvONE Green Hippo Boreal+ MK2 media servers to drive video content to both internal areas. The primary server delivers content to the ticket backwalls and Arrivals info desk displays. A second system is on standby as a backup to the primary server for the backwall, while a third is on backup for the info desk.

Flexible Approach

To put it mildly, the ticketing area's backwall signage is big, spanning the entire length of the ticketing counters of the airport terminal. The backwall is physically broken into seven sections by vertical pillars in the ticketing counter area, although electronically they function as a single, 102-foot display. This requires the Green Hippo Boreal+ MK2 server to serve specific areas of the video wall with different "status messages" (content) all at the same time.

“The content shown is a mix of airline branding as well as customizable banners to denote the different functions of ticketing stations," explained Chris Riebschlager, director of creative technology with Dimensional Innovations. "We used the TouchDesigner plugin to render these status messages as a web page, which is then sliced up with tvONE’s Hippotizer VideoMapper and placed in each mix.”

The airline ticket counter staff can also trigger different presets in Hippotizer’s content management system. "A locally hosted web service relays these content management system changes to Hippotizer over the REST API interface, which we are taking full advantage of,” Riebschlager added.

Dimensional Innovations’ selection of integrated, computer-driven digital signs, rather than separate monitors provisioned by each individual airline, was made to provide KCI with the most flexible signage solution possible. “In an effort to make this space functional and customizable, an LED wall solution was chosen to future-proof this area and enable it to be updated and modified as necessary,” said Riebschlager.

The choice of dvLED video walls for this space was also very deliberate. “Direct-view LED was specified to fit architectural parameters of the facility and provide current tech/longevity for their new terminal,” said Scott Kehoe, tvONE’s regional manager.

“What we’re seeing here is the use of direct-view LED technology as a dynamic material finish in an environment designed and built around the need for dynamic messaging capability, as opposed to the more typical scenario where display technologies are added after the primary design is complete,” said Dan Rossborough, director of strategic projects, Nanolumens Special Projects Group. “The outcome can be witnessed as an intentional and aesthetically flawless agglomeration of static and dynamic surfaces.”

A desire for content flexibility drove the decision to use tvONE media servers and software. “The Green Hippo servers provide the playback of pre-rendered content as well as compositing the customizable banners above the video content,” Riebschlager explained. “The Green Hippo provides four 4K outputs, which are routed with the Nanolumens video hardware to the appropriate screen segments.”

“The three Boreal+ MK2 servers are providing playback of content being triggered by airport staff,” noted Kehoe. “Each Boreal+ MK2 server comes standard with two 10Gb NICs [network interface controllers]. An additional 10Gb NIC card was added to each server for additional data transfer. "Also, the bundled Hippotizer software incorporates TouchDesigner, which allows content to be overlaid on the screens. The Green Hippo server configuration for this application is quite capable of delivering additional performance as the demand for visual content becomes more sophisticated.”

Minimal Challenges

By its sheer scale, the KCI digital signage project would seem to be daunting by nature. However, the actual installation was far less challenging than one might have expected.

“Initially, airport data integration and content requirements were two unknowns, as not much information was defined,” Kehoe said. “But as the project came to fruition, the flexibility and capability of the Hippotizer software enabled the integration team to adapt gracefully. Feedback about the system has been nothing short of fantastic.”

“This was our first Green Hippo installation, so there was a slight learning curve,” added Riebschlager. “But with some help from the Green Hippo team, we were able to quickly ramp up the system and have it perform precisely how we needed it to.”

It helps that Nanolumens knows the airport market very well. “We understand the high level of coordination and critical nature of these environments in which our displays need to perform,” said Todd Alan Green, global manager of airports and transportation, Nanolumens. “We provided a very high level of experience to the project team, which helped to minimize the risk involved in bringing these critical facilities to completion. At the end of the day, our goal is to help our clients deliver the best customer experience."

Today, the digital signage system is on duty 24/7 at the new terminal and working as planned, which is important because "it's such a crucial element to travelers coming through KCI,” Riebschlager said. “The integration with a content management system we created allows the airport to change messaging on the fly, offering much-needed flexibility with delivery and customization.”

tvONE CORIOmaster2 and Hippotizer solutions have been installed at the Council of the European Union and European Council headquarters in Brussels, to drive several LED and LCD walls used as graphical backdrop during high-level international events.

Housed in two buildings, the Council of the European Union is where ministers from each EU member state meet to discuss, amend and adopt EU directives, and coordinate policies. The European Council, housed in the same buildings, is responsible for the political direction and priorities of the European Union.

The institutions already use two tvONE CORIOmaster2 video wall processors at their facilities in both the Justus Lipsius Building and the Europa Building in central Brussels. In the Europa Building, a CORIOmaster2 manages the visuals on a Barco LED wall in the VIP entrance—where Heads of State and ministers enter the building—and a Leyard LED wall in the pressroom of that building. In the Justus Lipsius Building a second CORIOmaster2 processes the graphical background of the TV studio, comprising three Planar LCD videowalls and one large 4K Konvision LCD display, as well as a brand new Leyard LED wall in the main pressroom.

The video wall in the Europa Building pressroom is a Leyard LED wall, made up of 96 Leyard AT 1.5-pixel pitch LED panels, enveloping the speakers in a curved, horseshoe formation. This pressroom is mainly used by the President of the European Council, Mr. Charles Michel, following his meetings with world leaders.

The CORIOmaster2 used in that building, as well as the Leyard wall, were supplied to the Council of the EU by Athens-based AudioVisual and Broadcast Systems Provider and Integrator Telmaco S.A to the AV technical team at the Brussels facility.

The new video wall in the Justus Lipsius Building is a flat LED wall made up of 100 Leyard AT 1.5-pixel pitch panels which was provided and installed, as well as the CORIOmaster 2 driving it, by the Brussels-based broadcast systems provider and integrator VP Media Solutions.

The in-house team at the Council of the European Union and the European Council say that they value the versatility of the CORIOmaster2, noting that it is modular, so that they can customize it with numerous different input and output cards. They also highlight that the powerful technology under the hood of the unit can control three different canvases or graphical spaces with ease, and that the handling of presets means easy creation and recall and that set up was simple to achieve.

The CORIOmaster2 handles various media for the press room LED wall, ranging from still PNGs to SDI feeds, moving clips, and NDI streams.

The Council of the European Union and the European Council also have three Hippotizer Media Servers installed, with one Karst+ in each of the two press rooms and one Boreal+ in the TV studio. The Karst+ units are mostly used to display background still or moving pictures which have the same definition as the LED walls, but the team also uses them to display layouts using several layers and effects.

The Boreal+ is used to control the video set of the TV studio, which they say works very efficiently, using the layers and effects features of Hippotizer to achieve the desired visual looks and the hardware to display NDI sources such as cameras or remote participants.

tvONE is also releasing the latest version of its user-friendly video wall design software, CORIOgrapher v3.5, which is compatible with all CORIOmaster, CORIOmaster2 and CORIOview products. This latest version of software fully supports the new keying features for CORIOmaster2, as well as maintenance features for the CORIOmaster family and CORIOview.

German videoconferencing expert GreenIT24 has created an inspired unified communications solution for companies using MS Teams and Zoom rooms, with a tvONE CORIOview multi-window processor at its core.

The Osnabrück-based company, which specializes in video comms and IT for organizations looking to optimize internal communications, collaborated with German AV technologist and supplier Exertis Pro AV to create a system that would aid remote, multi-site video meetings between team members.

“Due to COVID, we have had an increasing demand for this type of solution, in terms of implementing hybrid classrooms and workspaces with different sorts of content sources and multiple cameras,” explained GreenIT24 product manager, Tobias Blaser. “Usually, the client requires two to four input sources with variable resolutions—1080P or 4K—which need to be displayed in different, flexible layouts. We needed a powerful multi-window processor to form the core of the system, which would enable seamless and easy-to-control set up and operation and the tvONE CORIOview fit the bill.”

GreenIT24 and Exertis Pro AV’s system uses tvONE’s MWP-MTO (Made to Order) version of the CORIOview, which allows the user to select mix and input/output types to cater to specific signal needs. The setup, housed in GreenIT24’s ‘Videocase’ all-in-one unit, consists of the CORIOview along with a Lenovo ThinkSmart Hub (Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows), four 1080P Lumens Box Camera, a Dual-Display Setup, a Bluetooth headset for wireless and flexible comms during the call, custom installed interfaces at the back of the case to connect the cables, and shelf space and cable hooks for easy transportation and cabling.

The first incarnation of the system has been realized for a German company which specializes in constructing machines for packaging. There, they are positioning four HD Lumens cameras around the machine to film each step individually. When more detail is needed, they can switch a specific step to full-screen view using the CORIOview, which the team can view and discuss via a Microsoft Teams Rooms system through CORIOview, even using the CORIOview multi-window processor to display multiple cameras simultaneously using with zero configuration needed through any unified communications solution.

“The CORIOview enables the end user to switch between sources quickly and easily,” Blaser continued. “Multiple sources can be displayed at once or the important details can be viewed in full screen. Switching happens within a second and there is no need to do tedious switching within the conferencing app. You can rely on the solution and focus on what’s in front of the cameras.

“As we were using Dynamic Mode, the setup is simple, and this mode perfectly fits our application. With the sources connected, the needed layouts were configured pretty fast and labeled easily. Also, the public documentation is very detailed and comprehensive and assists in installing and operating the CORIOview. This also goes for implementing it with external control systems as tvONE provides a very good API for that.”

tvONE announced it has strengthened its NCSA sales team by appointing Frank Brady as regional sales manager for the Northeast. Brady will represent tvONE, Magenta, and Green Hippo brands, covering the regions of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, and West Virginia.

“I am excited to join tvONE having represented them for the last 11 years with HMA. I’m eager to start as a direct employee of tvONE to serve the customer base with professionalism and good service,” said Brady.

Brady served in progressively increasing roles at BTX, DPI, and Liberty Wire & Cable, where he was vice president of broadcast and integration and was responsible for developing its commercial and residential manufacturer representative team nationwide. Before Liberty Wire & Cable, Brady was instrumental in developing one of the nation’s leading suppliers of AV systems integration and videoconferencing products, as vice president of sales and operations at Peirce Phelps.

The tvONE CORIOmaster family recently continued its evolution. The video processors now include new HDMI quad input and quad output modules for CORIOmaster, CORIOmaster mini, and CORIOmaster micro. In addition, new firmware (version M412) and CORIOgrapher set-up and control software are available.

The new HDMI quad input (CM-HDMI-4IN)  and output modules (CM-HDMI-SC-4OUT) allow expansive set up across all three CORIOmaster chassis. This allows users to create enormous video walls, projector edge blends, and LED installations or to deploy switcher applications. The modules grow the maximum number of inputs on a 4RU CORIOmaster to 56, while the 1RU CORIOmaster mini can achieve up to 18 inputs and 20 outputs. For the first time, it’s possible to create huge video walls with the CORIOmaster mini, with 3x3, 4x4, and 5x4 walls being easily achievable. CORIOmaster micro now has up to eight inputs or eight outputs in a half width 1RU chassis.

For 4K output applications, the recently released 4K60 output module (CM-HDMI-4K-SC-2OUT) is fully compatible with the new M412 firmware release, giving a smoother, more immersive video experience for up to 14 4K60 outputs. Other new output choices using this module include 4K60 output cloning or for dual, independent, 4K30 outputs. Our dual 4K30 outputs double the amount of 4K outputs available, to allow connection to up to 28 4K displays in 4RU, while the new cloning feature makes setting up repeat displays, duplicated side screens, and screen recording much simpler and more efficient to use.

In conjunction with the M412 firmware upgrade, the companion CORIOgrapher software has also been upgraded. Presets can now be specifically numbered, which makes programming any member of the CORIOmaster family even easier and quicker, while removing automation set-up headaches. This development builds on the recently added layout only and specific window presets, and a cleaner look and feel for CORIOgrapher.

ATEN has been working hard to help our partners meet the new needs for AV and will showcase these solutions at InfoComm 2022. Our company is focused on providing connectivity and control solutions that foster emerging AV environments that enable the amount of interactivity and flexibility required to build a new, better normal. We work with our partners to meet the demands of these new requirements and challenges and to find the best solutions.

We have been working to enable hybrid and remote environments in a variety of industries. Education has new requirements to support remote and in person classrooms and lecture halls. Entertainment has been revolutionized, with new immersive and mixed reality experiences. Office spaces and meeting rooms have transformed to support the hybrid work environment and focus on creating new collaboration spaces.

We are also working with partners to develop immersive environments with our HDBaseT video extenders that meet their needs for long-range AV transmission and quick, responsive equipment. Our video presentation switches, control boxes, and content creation products are being used to transform offices and classrooms into collaborative experiences for both remote and local participants.

I am eagerly looking forward to supporting new AV experiences as the application of collaborative and immersive AV technology is applied in new and unpredictable ways to delight and excite everyone. I believe AV technology is just on the cusp of supporting a new collaborative and immersive world.

For more than 35 years, we have developed our expertise as a KVM manufacturer and are looking forward to showcasing our latest KVM solutions at InfoComm 2022. We use our experience to create the best possible working conditions for control room staff and technicians, which we achieve with our broad, interoperable KVM portfolio. KVM makes it possible to operate multiple physically separated computers from different workstations, thus optimizing the IT infrastructure. Therefore, we place great value on ensuring that users can always rely on the technology running in the background and that focused and intuitive work is possible in control rooms. At InfoComm, visitors will be able to see the latest product highlights from G&D in real-world applications and experience the usability of the products.

The new, high-performance KVM-over-IP extender VisionXS utilizes standard Ethernet networks with up to 10-Gbit bandwidth and therefore requires much less compression at higher display resolutions. G&D's proprietary lossless video compression bluedec transmits pixel-perfect resolutions up to 4K60 and improves the user experience. As a special highlight, the integrated IP-MUX function lets a console device manage multiple target IP addresses from up to 20 computer sources without additional hardware. For simpler applications, the on-screen display can be used to switch between different sources.

To enable employees in control rooms to keep an eye on all content, various screens can be displayed on one large monitor. Particularly exciting for this purpose is the PersonalWorkplace-Controller, a multi-viewing tool that allows up to 26 video sources to be displayed and operated on a single screen depending on the application. AV professionals benefit from a flexible layout, with image quality up to 4K60. The PWC optimizes workflows, where multiple signals need to be monitored. Combining a KVM system with the PWC ensures secure, high-performance, and flexible access to all relevant computer systems. It is also possible to use the PersonalWorkplace-Controller to display the sources on a large video wall.

As we continue to move forward and transition our lives to blend the remote, physical, and virtual into hybrid environments at work and school, the efforts to find suitable collaboration solutions will be ongoing. 

Hybrid environments are an amalgam of fluidity. There is no fixed plan or one-size-fits-all strategy anymore. Just how does a solution provider or manufacturer operate in these new environments? Basically, we work together and offer products and services that meet the demands of these hybrid settings, both in the workspace and in the classroom. We need to deliver products that can be smart and connect employees, teachers, and students. We also need to support our AV partners by designing products that continue to evolve with the changing needs of their customers.

At InfoComm 2022, I believe that we’ll see products and services that accommodate the fluidity of the hybrid environment and fusion of flexible solutions—more interactive and larger screens, products to facilitate collaboration and communication, and products that support a hybrid life. ViewSonic, for example, will be introducing the next generation of ViewBoard interactive displays with the IFP62 and IFP52 series. They are ideal collaboration products that allow businesses and schools to create connected spaces and help teams collaborate. Other products will include portable monitors for added convenience. 

ViewSonic has developed display solutions that can fit in with ever-changing environments. Our AV partners need to have products that are adaptable to their customers’ needs, from seamless connectivity and interactive tools to collaborative technologies and software that allow people to participate in the office, classroom, home, or on the road.

Since 2012, we’ve been delivering world-class products, with a heavy focus on customers in live events and concert touring. The road-worthiness proven in these areas have helped us make a name for ourselves as the most dependable option LED processing. We also bring a feature set and ease of use that is truly second to none. This is born out in the fact that the very first processors we delivered, 10 years ago, can still be found in working rental inventories today. Those early products are still capable of being updated, as well! 

At InfoComm 2022, we’ll be showing our full range of processors, from the HD-compatible S4 and T1, to our 4K S8 and flagship SX40 units. 

At Brompton, we never stop improving and innovating. One recent example is our Hydra camera measurement system, a product we created due to the lack of capabilities found in off-the-shelf calibration systems for LED. Hydra turns the legacy calibration process on its head, and by truly understanding what each LED on a panel is capable of, our processors are able to achieve a very high level of performance, especially when dealing with HDR sources. We call this process Dynamic Calibration. 

In addition to hardware developments, we’re constantly pushing new feature updates (always free of charge!) in our Tessera software. Over the past couple of years, we’ve found our products being used heavily in broadcast, XR, and virtual production for film. So, our most recently added features have been quality-of-life improvements for using LED in-camera. Some of these latest features are Frame Remapping, ShutterSync, 3D LUT, and camera tracking implementations. Please stop by our booth to say hello and check out the latest developments!

From matrixes to multi-format presentation switchers and more, the Blustream philosophy is to make advanced features standard, such as enabling 4K 18Gbps 4:4:4 resolutions across primary Blustream HDMI and HDBaseT products sold in the US. The Blustream Multicast UHD video over IP platform uses lossless compression technology to deliver virtually latency-free HDMI video up to 328 feet over a 1Gb network switch. Innovative new products include the multi-format HEX70HDUK-KIT extender set—an HDMI 2.0 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 (18Gbps) HDCP2.2 HDBaseT solution using CSC technology to deliver HDMI, USB-C, and DisplayPort over a single Cat cable. Audio solutions on display include the new Dante-enabled networked power amplifier—the NPA100DA. The concept of the workplace is changing. It is no longer all about work (in the sense of routine tasks) or about place. Instead, organizations are beginning to embrace the concept of a more flexible approach, where employees’ homes are the place to get things done and the office is the place to figure things out. We are seeing this happen at Intel, where many employees have been given the opportunity to continue to base themselves at home—returning to the office for those activities that benefit from face-to-face interaction, such as collaboration. To keep talented employees, organizations will need to evolve, and the more quickly and seamlessly they can adapt, the more successful they will be. A big part of this evolution will involve the rethinking, and the adding, of collaboration spaces.

The philosophy behind the Intel Unite solution is based on the recognition that evolution is constant, and to meet customers’ needs for fast, frictionless adaptation, a product must not only be able to evolve, but it must be designed to evolve. That’s why our software-based, cloud-delivered collaboration solution uses an open and extensible architecture that allows the seamless integration of a growing library of collaboration-enhancing apps, some developed by Intel, some by our partners, and some—like the new Bose VB1 video bar app—developed jointly. It’s why we offer a publicly available SDK that gives IT and solution partners the freedom to develop custom solutions. 

At InfoComm, we’ll demonstrate not only app integrations like the newly released Google Meet app, but also the many other features that make the Intel Unite solution uniquely adaptable. We’ll also show why it is well positioned for a BYOM world where collaborators must switch seamlessly between in-room, remote, and hybrid scenarios, and where collaboration spaces can vary from touchdown spaces to boardrooms.

Thought Leader: Sam Recine, Chair, Pro AV Working Group, AIMS

At InfoComm, AIMS will host its first live interoperability demonstration of Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX)—a set of standards-based protocols designed to ensure interoperability for AV over IP. This first-of-a-kind demo will feature networking equipment and hardware and software nodes running both IPMX and SMPTE ST 2110, the standards suite on which IPMX is based. The demo will also highlight gateways between IPMX and other protocols, developer kits, and elements of IPMX-enabled AV-over-IP workflows. 

With this demo at InfoComm 2022, we're passing a critical milestone on the AIMS roadmap for open-standards-based media over IP. We're demonstrating the technical viability of IPMX in terms of multivendor interoperability, and that is pretty exciting! 

Also significant is the high level of industry support the demo signals. Leading manufacturers are building IPMX support into their products, and more companies are continually joining those ranks as we move toward a more flexible, dynamic, IP-based future for pro AV.

Demo partners include Arista Networks, Cisco Systems, intoPix SA, Macnica, Matrox, Ross Video Limited, STAGETEC GmbH, and many others.

IPMX implements a standards-based approach based on SMPTE ST 2110, with features and capabilities that target the specific needs of the pro AV industry. In addition to simplifying implementation of SMPTE ST 2110 and ensuring interoperability for AV-over-IP systems, IPMX incorporates other features tailored to pro AV installations. These features include AMWA NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 for discovery, registration, and connection management, as well as specifications for copy protection and security.

We’re celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2022, with most of those years spent delivering AV-over-IP distribution solutions. Our design philosophy is to respect the investment that customers make in their AV systems with products that last and systems that can be upgraded or modified as new features arrive. Scalability and flexibility are key, as Just Add Power systems can be expanded as needed and have the features and abilities to solve system design problems that arise from facility layout, zone requirements, and the desire to wow. Those themes continue to guide the formation of our products, services, and partnerships, which attendees will see and experience at InfoComm. 

First up is our new, award-winning MaxColor 4K60 Series. It natively supports 4K60 in and out to allow end users to play Ultra HD video from the growing number of 4K sources and devices on the market. We released this product last year and people couldn’t wait for it to ship!

Our Warp Engine transmitter took home the best of show award at InfoComm 2021 in Orlando, and we’re excited to have it displayed in Las Vegas for anyone who didn’t have the opportunity to experience it. The latest specialized product in our 3G Ultra line, the Warp Engine can rotate video in 0.1-degree increments, to single screens or video walls, to allow screens to be mounted at any angle. The eye-catching displays that can be created with this product are limited only by the installer’s imagination.

Finally, we have the ST1 sound transceiver, an audio-only device that can serve as an input or an output. Integrators can add a stereo audio source to any Just Add Power system or extract stereo audio from an existing transmitter. With this one device, integrators can manipulate the audio signal in a multitude of ways to suit customer’s desires.

As professional AV’s largest interoperable ecosystem, the HDBaseT Alliance has long been committed to fostering an environment of greater flexibility and inclusiveness among our industry’s community. This has never been clearer than in recent years, as global supply-chain challenges have effectively brought into focus, especially for integrators and installers, the importance of access to brand-agnostic solutions that work together seamlessly. With an ecosystem of over 200 members, and thousands of products in the market supporting the HDBaseT standard, I am proud to say that each day HDBaseT is helping them skirt some of these obstacles, and all without sacrificing a single pixel on quality or reliability.

At the heart of our efforts to spearhead the ongoing advancement of this truly interoperable ecosystem is our Spec 3.0 of the HDBaseT standard. This latest generation supports the extension of fully uncompressed 4K@60Hz 4:4:4, audio, USB 2.0, 1Gb Ethernet, controls, and up to 100 watts of power—all over a single, standard, Category 6a cable—up to 100m/328ft. In just over 6 months since the first wave of HDBaseT 3.0 products made their debut on our booth’s signature Power Wall at InfoComm 2021, the number that will be displayed there at this year’s show has grown by over 200 percent—a true testament to the technology’s game-changing potential. Clearly, we are only scratching the surface of the market’s demand for the high-bandwidth, uncompressed, multimedia signal distribution with zero latency that only HDBaseT 3.0 can provide.

Heading into the second half of 2022, we are excited to continue providing our members with more opportunities for innovation, expanding the number of interoperable products for integrators and installers to choose from, and widening the array of real-world applications for professional AV, with greater capabilities than ever before.

Epson will also show the new PixAlign ELPEC01 camera that attaches to select Epson projectors and lenses. PixAlign is a powerful tool that makes advanced projection installations, such as edge blending and stacking, easier than ever before. 

Addressing today’s education and corporate display needs, Epson will also demonstrate hybrid collaboration and learning solutions that enable all participants to see, be seen, and participate equally, whether they are in person or remote. Epson’s booth will also include digital signage solutions that enable creative minds to deliver immersive, experiential moments to be remembered.

FSR was established in 1981, the same year IBM launched the PC, and we’ve never wavered in our mission to provide quality and cost-effective products to an industry in constant motion. The company now manufactures hundreds of infrastructure, signal management, and control solutions, including floor, wall, table, and ceiling connectivity boxes, as well as a full line of interfaces, distribution amplifiers, matrix switchers, seamless switchers, and HDBaseT and CAT-X signal delivery products.

This year our engineering team has been exceptionally busy designing products that address current requirements, but—as always—will feature forward-thinking functionalities to keep our customers ahead of the technology curve. And while we didn’t predict the severe supply chain shortages, we were ready! All our products are made in the U.S., our shelves are stocked, and there is ample inventory available.

Our product roadmap includes a cost-effective and clear path to power, data, and AV transport across a room to where it is needed. We launched our award-winning and extremely popular Smart-Way Raceway a few years ago, and we are constantly adding to the platform. At InfoComm we are introducing Smart-Way Wall Raceway that allows the transition from a floor to ceiling system. We are also extending our Modular Link System (MLS) with the Smart-Way MLS Stick—a quick way to extend the MLS across the floor to another work surface.

On the infrastructure side, we are debuting the industry’s first dedicated flat panel TV project box engineered for 8-inch block walls full of features and options available in a variety of configurations.

And come see our hinged “tool-less” U-Access cover that will simplify and shorten installation timelines. 

Other innovations include a pre-wired ceiling box that minimizes job site visits, a high-end performance 3.1 Gen 2 Digital Ribbon USB cable, an internal charger bracket designed to contain AC power, plus a USB Type-A and Type-C charger, new DA, switcher, and extender. The new SR-20HD direct streaming AV mixer, a powerful and portable audio/video switcher, makes it easy for enterprises to master direct livestreaming with little training. The V-600UHD 4K HDR multi-format video switcher with automatic ROI and VR-4HD AV mixer enhance single-operator productions. You don’t need multiple cameras for multiple shots with the V-600UHD. Roland makes content creation simple and affordable with the AeroCaster livestreaming system, allowing anyone to create wireless multi-camera streaming setups using mobile devices. The compact UVC-02 web presentation dock desktop control hub connects an HDMI camera, pro mic, and other audio sources to look and sound your best in video meetings. The V-02HD MK II streaming video mixer mixes audio and switches two HDMI cameras, sending it all directly to streaming platforms.

Roland provides many solutions to enhance sports/esports productions. The P-20HD video instant replayer offers pro replay capabilities simply and affordably. The VC-100UHD 4K video scaler integrates high-frame-rate gaming machines into HD 59.94/50 Hz workflows.

The VC-1-DMX video lighting converter generates control commands for DMX lighting setups based on input from video/audio/MIDI sources.
