tvONE has enhanced the CORIOmaster2 video processor, continuing its evolution with a new feature for displaying graphics and information.

The latest feature introduced to CORIOmaster2 is keying capabilities, enabling designers to layer full motion sources or images, adding vast opportunities to be more visually attractive while displaying graphics and information.

Any CORIOmaster2 output can have luma keying applied in real-time to accurately defined values. Combined with a selectable softness factor, the original anti-aliased source text and graphics can be blended into the background. With this powerful feature, real-time data overlays can be added to deliver productivity boosts and assist with enhanced decision making for Healthcare and Industrial set ups and add attention grabbing graphical elements for Corporate or Live Event applications.

tvONE is also releasing the latest version of its user-friendly video wall design software, CORIOgrapher v3.5, which is compatible with all CORIOmaster, CORIOmaster2 and CORIOview products. This latest version of software fully supports the new keying features for CORIOmaster2, as well as maintenance features for the CORIOmaster family and CORIOview.

German videoconferencing expert GreenIT24 has created an inspired unified communications solution for companies using MS Teams and Zoom rooms, with a tvONE CORIOview multi-window processor at its core.

The Osnabrück-based company, which specializes in video comms and IT for organizations looking to optimize internal communications, collaborated with German AV technologist and supplier Exertis Pro AV to create a system that would aid remote, multi-site video meetings between team members.

“Due to COVID, we have had an increasing demand for this type of solution, in terms of implementing hybrid classrooms and workspaces with different sorts of content sources and multiple cameras,” explained GreenIT24 product manager, Tobias Blaser. “Usually, the client requires two to four input sources with variable resolutions—1080P or 4K—which need to be displayed in different, flexible layouts. We needed a powerful multi-window processor to form the core of the system, which would enable seamless and easy-to-control set up and operation and the tvONE CORIOview fit the bill.”

GreenIT24 and Exertis Pro AV’s system uses tvONE’s MWP-MTO (Made to Order) version of the CORIOview, which allows the user to select mix and input/output types to cater to specific signal needs. The setup, housed in GreenIT24’s ‘Videocase’ all-in-one unit, consists of the CORIOview along with a Lenovo ThinkSmart Hub (Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows), four 1080P Lumens Box Camera, a Dual-Display Setup, a Bluetooth headset for wireless and flexible comms during the call, custom installed interfaces at the back of the case to connect the cables, and shelf space and cable hooks for easy transportation and cabling.

The first incarnation of the system has been realized for a German company which specializes in constructing machines for packaging. There, they are positioning four HD Lumens cameras around the machine to film each step individually. When more detail is needed, they can switch a specific step to full-screen view using the CORIOview, which the team can view and discuss via a Microsoft Teams Rooms system through CORIOview, even using the CORIOview multi-window processor to display multiple cameras simultaneously using with zero configuration needed through any unified communications solution.

“The CORIOview enables the end user to switch between sources quickly and easily,” Blaser continued. “Multiple sources can be displayed at once or the important details can be viewed in full screen. Switching happens within a second and there is no need to do tedious switching within the conferencing app. You can rely on the solution and focus on what’s in front of the cameras.

“As we were using Dynamic Mode, the setup is simple, and this mode perfectly fits our application. With the sources connected, the needed layouts were configured pretty fast and labeled easily. Also, the public documentation is very detailed and comprehensive and assists in installing and operating the CORIOview. This also goes for implementing it with external control systems as tvONE provides a very good API for that.”

The What: tvONE has released updates to the CORIOmaster app, a control tool for CORIOmaster, CORIOmaster mini, and CORIOmaster micro video processing systems. In addition, upgrades have been made to the Crestron Control module.

The What Else: The CORIOmaster app is updated to version 1.4 for CORIOmaster, CORIOmaster mini, and CORIOmaster micro. This update adds REST and websockets capability to CORIOmaster to allow connection via HTTP and HTTPS for secure communication. The popular macro feature is still available for connections via TCP. Parallel connections from multiple devices (App, CORIOgrapher) to a single CORIOmaster is now possible with the new update.

Additionally, the new upgrades to the Crestron Control module for CORIOmaster allows seamless control for CORIOmaster, CORIOmaster mini, and CORIOmaster micro. New features include the ability to route sources to windows, recall presets, and Canvas level audio adjustment including mute and volume control. This enhanced development evolves from the previous module, by enabling REST based control facilitating multiple connections to the CORIOmaster from a range of control clients.

tvONE's CORIOmaster2 has been installed as part of a system upgrade for a 911 Emergency Operations Center in Peoria, IL. 

The Center has been handling emergency ambulance dispatch and critical medical services for regions throughout Illinois and Iowa for almost a decade, and its previous audio-visual system was beginning to fail. To fix the problem, they approached local company IAS Technology.

“Because of the critical nature of the Center’s work, the AV system plays a vital role in the provision of services,” said IAS Technology’s CEO and chief design engineer, Jeremy Caldera, CTS-D, CTS-I. “It displays GPS mapping/tracking, call data, and other critical information, which can be seen at each individual workstation, as well as by the dispatchers and the watch floor manager on the high-resolution video wall.”

Caldera designed a system including two new 4K Laser projectors, with edge-blending handled by a brand new, high-powered processor that he knew had just arrived on the market—tvONE’s CORIOmaster2. A 4RU package optimized for 4K60 environments, the CORIOmaster2 can handle up to 40 4K video sources with no visible latency and up to 56 outputs.

“A common challenge with this kind of installation is working within the confines of a reasonable budget, while still utilizing new technologies and providing better resolution,” said Caldera. “With tvONE’s CORIOmaster2, we were able to allow for much higher resolution sources and displays to be used and edge-blended, all with low latency.”

The IAS Technology team completed the installation of the entire audio-visual system upgrade, with minimum interference to the Center’s operations, over a two-day period.

“The programming and interfacing of the control system were critical to a successful user experience,” Caldera said. “The key was to add features while not changing the way the system operates or looks. This helped minimize the required training and kept the users at ease.”

The Center’s IT director, Brad Norrell, added, “As an emergency dispatch center, we need ease of use and reliability. With the CORIOmaster2, the quality and reliability are immensely better and the control panel is very simple to use. IAS is very easy to work with, and they really know their stuff. We had a couple of last-minute requests, and they were able to quickly program those in for us. This system has met all our requirements thus far.”

With the new app, users now have access to the powerful video wall processing systems in the palm of their hands.

The What Else: Users can execute all simple control functions with ease through the CORIOmaster app, including viewing all canvases, viewing “source-to-window” assignments, activating presets, switching inputs, and assigning fresh sources to windows. Additionally, more sophisticated control is possible by sending single or command chains using API commands set.

The Bottom Line: The app provides a secure wireless control platform, allowing users to control CORIOmaster wirelessly on an internal Wi-Fi network. Additionally, the app gives users the ability to control CORIOmaster without having to launch the CORIOmaster design software, CORIOgrapher. The new application works with Apple (iOS version 9 and above) and Android (v5.0 [Lollipop] and above) devices.
