Crest Audio, a brand of Peavey Electronics Corporation, has introduced two new PoE++ powered loudspeakers: the CiP 26 and the CiP 5. Designed for today’s fully networked AV environments, both models combine professional sound quality with streamlined, network-cable installation—reflecting the growing shift toward smarter, more scalable commercial audio systems.

As organizations increasingly adopt networked-based infrastructures, the need for loudspeakers that integrate seamlessly into AVoIP ecosystems continues to grow. The CiP Series answers that demand by delivering both power, control, and audio over a single Ethernet cable using PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 90W), removing the requirement for local mains power or separate amplifier racks. The CiP 26 is a compact yet high-output two-way loudspeaker designed for applications where full-range performance and musical impact matter. Featuring dual 6.5-inch woofers paired with a 1-inch dynamic tweeter, its bi-amplified architecture delivers clarity and headroom, reaching peak sound pressure levels of 103 dB at one meter.

With a frequency response spanning 65 Hz to 20 kHz and a wide 120-degree horizontal by 75-degree vertical coverage pattern, the CiP 26 is equally at home delivering dynamic foreground music in hospitality venues as it is supporting speech and presentation audio in larger collaboration spaces. A supplied wall-mount bracket simplifies installation, with connectivity coming via a single RJ-45 connector.

Complementing the CiP 26, the CiP 5 offers a compact solution tailored for a more controlled soundstage. Equipped with a premium 5.25-inch woofer and 0.75-inch tweeter in a bi-amplified configuration, it delivers up to 101 dB peak SPL with a more focused 90x60-degree sound dispersion pattern. This makes it ideally suited to boardrooms, classrooms, meeting rooms, boutique retail spaces and distributed background music systems where intelligibility and tonal balance are essential.

Like the CiP 26, the CiP 5 supports Dante and AES67 (sNET) audio networking and PoE++ power over a single Ethernet cable, with optional 24VDC external power available where required. Its compact enclosure and included U-bracket allow for quick, secure installation across a wide range of commercial settings.

Fulcrum Acoustic has introduced its Driveflex amplifier line and version 1.5 of Fulcrum One software, extending the Fulcrum platform to include power amplification and advanced array functionality. The release gives users a unified workflow for designing, simulating, controlling, and monitoring amplifiers, loudspeakers, and immersive systems within a single environment.

Driveflex amplifiers are compact 1RU models that deliver the power and processing required for Fulcrum’s DSP. They are automatically recognized and configured within Fulcrum One software, which loads optimized TQ presets and limiters for the entire loudspeaker catalog. This integration ensures consistent voicing and system protection while reducing setup time and on-site adjustments.

Fulcrum One version 1.5 adds Driveflex amplifier management to the platform. Used together, Fulcrum One 1.5 and the Driveflex amplifier series enable advanced array tools including array optimization, array voicing, and array limiter protection. These functions provide greater control and predictability in system design, helping users achieve uniform performance across a wide range of applications. These advanced capabilities are currently supported in the AHS, FL, and CC loudspeaker series, with additional models to follow.

The DA2 HD 8K AE extracts two-channel LPCM audio from the HDMI input signal and converts it to analog audio. Its analog output is configurable for stereo or dual-mono signals. The DA2 HD 8K AI amplifier accepts separate two-channel analog audio and converts it to 16-bit LPCM audio at 48 kHz for embedding onto the HDMI output signal.

These HDCP 2.3-compliant products are loaded with features and capabilities that streamline integration and operation. They feature Extron EDID Minder Plus. This technology supports additional memory blocks for displays that convey advanced features via both EDID and DisplayID for proper management of the extended EDID information required to reliably display and distribute 5K and 21:9 aspect ratio content. The DA2 HD 8K AE and DA2 HD 8K AI ensure high quality and reliable system operation in a wide variety of professional environments, from presentation venues to esports arenas.

The DA2 HD 8K AE audio de-embedder and DA2 HD 8K AI audio embedder are designed and engineered for commercial AV applications with 8K video resolution requirements. Both models provide two outputs that support HDMI 2.1 data rates up to 40.1 Gbps, HDR, Deep Color up to 12-bit, 3D, and HD lossless audio formats.  Other features include input cable equalization, output muting, audio configuration, Key Minder that continuously verifies HDCP compliance, and more. The embedder also offers audio gain and attenuation adjustment and +5 VDC, 250 mA power on each output for external peripheral devices. With these many audio and video capabilities, the DA2 HD 8K AE audio de-embedder and DA HD 8K AI embedder meet the industry needs for audio processing and distribution of high data rate HDMI signals to standard and ultra-wide aspect ratio displays such as 21:9 and 5K.

Extron recently introduced its new NetPA 204 POE, a Dante-enabled, PoE powered, four channel audio power amplifier that delivers up to 20 watts per channel. It is designed to be mounted above ceiling tiles, out of sight and near the speakers. Receiving audio and power over a single cable, the NetPA 204 POE automatically recognizes connected PoE, PoE+, or PoE++ to deliver the corresponding amount of output power.

With its integrated DSP, the NetPA 204 POE includes essential audio signal processing that offers the ability to meet the requirements of complex, decentralized systems. Dante Domain Manager and AES67 support ensures wide compatibility with enterprise configurations and other network audio devices.

Snap One introduced a new line of Episode Hybrid Amplifiers, designed to meet the demands of large-scale outdoor speaker installations. These high power and versatile amplifiers are more powerful than its predecessors with 1200W and 2400W models, giving customers more options than previous models for easy and flexible configurations.

The Episode Hybrid Amps support both 70V and 8-ohm systems, giving customers the flexibility to mix and match speakers and subwoofers, including Episode’s outdoor Surroundscape speakers and Radiance speakers. Customers can also customize DSP settings for each project using either an intuitive web-based interface or the amp’s high resolution front panel display. Inputs and outputs are fully adjustable to accommodate a variety of source types and levels, from balanced and RCA analog inputs, to digital coax inputs. Episode rigorously tested the Hybrid Amps to ensure lasting performance across a wide range of commercial and residential applications.

Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) recently expanded its installation amplifier line with the all-new UXA4807D. UXA installation amplifiers offer onboard processing that includes FIR and limiter settings called Greyboxes. Greyboxes come preloaded and can be assigned to each output from a pull-down menu using intuitive software. Ample user-adjustable EQ, limiter/compressor and delay settings are available to fine tune the installation.

“Through the creation of the UXA Installation Series and specifically the UXA4807D, we are making it easier and faster to specify and integrate EAW systems,” said TJ Smith, president of EAW. “We understand that today’s consultants and integrators do not have time to review mountains of specifications and download settings. EAW UXA installation amplifiers save time during specification, integration and commissioning to provide trustworthy and long-lasting results.”

Multiple input signal formats come standard; Dante, four analog, and SPDIF signals are available in the UXA4807D’s comprehensive input matrix mixer.

To eliminate tampering, there are no front panel controls. All amplifier control is accomplished using a web browser when connected to the amplifier’s integrated Wi-Fi access point or hardwired TCP/IP connection. For larger systems, multiple UXA amplifiers can be monitored and controlled with EAW’s Resolution 2 software.

The Power Factor Corrected (PFC) universal power supply is efficient and tolerant of mains disturbances. UXA amplifiers operate from mains voltages of 100-240 volts and 50 or 60 Hertz. ErP and EnergySTAR compliance mean operating costs are reduced. UXA amplifiers recover from a loss of mains power quickly, passing audio from the analog inputs within 10 seconds from application of power.

Initially showcased at ISE 2025, Bose Professional has officially released the Veritas series of smart mixer amplifiers. Veritas amplifiers combine sound clarity and streamlined operation for background and/or foreground music, paging, and multimedia applications in small- to medium-sized commercial spaces.

“Veritas series smart mixer amplifiers were designed to maximize the combination of sound and simplicity,” said Shawn Watts, director of product management, Bose Professional. “Veritas amplifiers combine high-fidelity amplification, simplified installation and modern OLED screens for intuitive control right out of the box. All Veritas amplifiers feature Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, which offers greater range, lower latency, and more reliable streaming, and include an OLED screen incorporating an embedded QR code for self-guided setup. Scanning this code launches an easy-to-use webpage that walks users through the entire installation, setup, and Bluetooth connection process—designed to make it easy to get up and running, right out of the box.

The Veritas series is comprised of four models at launch: The half-rack-size Veritas 1100BH and Veritas 250BL, and the larger, more powerful Veritas 2160BH and Veritas 2160BL.

The half-rack Veritas 1100BH features a front-mounted XLR-and-¼-inch input for convenient mic or audio source connection. Designed for 70V/100V high-impedance systems, it’s perfect for smaller rooms, offices, and boutique shops. Similar in features to the 1100BH, the Veritas 250BL is the perfect choice for DIYers looking for a half-rack-size, professional-grade amplifier for low-impedance 4/8-ohm audio systems.

For medium-sized 70V/100V distributed audio systems requiring more flexibility, the Veritas 2160BH efficiently powers multiple zones with uncompromising clarity and performance and is ideal for hotels, retail, and multi-room installations. Similar in features to the 2160BH and for applications requiring more power in a low-impedance 4/8-ohm system, the Veritas 2160BL delivers robust sound for larger rooms, restaurants, and performance spaces.

All models include a rear ControlCenter port, allowing easy connection to an optional Bose Professional analog wall controller for convenient volume adjustment. L-Acoustics recently introduced the LA1.16i, an ultra-compact 16-channel amplified controller specifically engineered for the installation market. This latest innovation delivers enhanced channel density in a space-saving 1U format, making premium L-Acoustics sound accessible for a wider range of venues and applications.

Purpose-built for near-field and short-throw applications where higher sound pressure levels aren’t the priority, the LA1.16i is ideal for hospitality venues, retail environments, cultural spaces, and residential installations. The LA1.16i is remotely configurable, monitored using L-Acoustics LA Network Manager software, and offers integration with popular media control systems through Q-SYS plugins, Crestron modules, and HTTP API.

Alfatron Electronics recently unveiled its MA15075D Compact Digital Mixing Amplifier. Ideal for a wide range of commercial installed sound environments, the new MA15075D combines convenient digital mixing capability with a versatile power amplifier designed for low or high impedance applications—all in a compact, rack mountable 1RU form factor.

The MA15075D offers a mode selector switch that enables the amplifier to deliver either two channels of audio at 75 watts per channel into 4 or 8 Ω loudspeakers, or a single channel of 150 watts at 70 or 100 V for use with distributed systems. Equally notable, the MA15075D is a Class-D amplifier design that provides power efficiency and energy-saving attributes, making it an ideal choice for many applications. For outputs, the amplifier provides two balanced line level outputs, a stereo Low Impedance amp output, and one 70V/100V amplifier output.

The MA15075D offers a rich feature set that further enhances its operation and versatility. The system’s audio sampling rate is 48 kHz / 24-bit to offer the equivalent of high-definition audio and there are two rear panel input level controls for setting the input gain for the two microphones inputs. The amplifier also offers automatic standby after a period of inactivity to minimize power consumption as well as low inrush current to prevent audible ‘thumps’ when multiple amps are powered on simultaneously. Further, the MA15075D provides integrated DSP functionality in the form of a 5-band graphic equalizer for fine tuning the sound of the audio passing through the unit.

For intuitive control and operation of the MA15075D, the system provides a GUI Webserver with TCP/IP control for remote control or third-party integration. Equally notable, the amplifier offers a rear panel trigger port to provide external mute/ unmute capability. To further ensure easy operation, the MA15075D’s front panel includes signal status LEDs for power, a panel button lock, audio source indicators, a mute switch, and real-time volume level meters.

Russound has added to the D-Series amplifier family with the release of the D890 Eight-Channel Digital Amplifier. Designed to expand an audio system into multiple rooms or zones, or to add increased audio output for larger rooms or outdoor areas where a higher output volume is required, the D890 offers integrators powerful audio performance, source and control flexibility, and streamlined installation.

In creating the D-Series, Russound achieved its primary design objective: making the amplifiers more compact while enhancing their features. Like other models in the D-Series, the D890 incorporates an advanced digital design, enabling a smaller chassis size compared to any previous generation of Russound amplifiers—while delivering up to 90 watts per channel.

The D-Series amplifiers offer up to three input options for each channel. Installers can choose between two shared bus inputs or a dedicated input, enabling precise customization for any system. LEA Professional added the 1504 model to its Cinema Digital Series. The four-channel CDS1504 model drives 1,500 watts per channel into 2, 4, and 8 ohms as well as 70Vrms and 100Vrms.

Atlona has expanded its GAIN Series of audio products. The AT-GAIN-M50-LZ is a two-input mixer amplifier designed for low impedance education and commercial applications. AVPro Edge has introduced a new distribution amplifier series. The AC-DA-X2 series includes three HDMI 2.1b models with different output configurations. LEA Professional is adding to its Connect Series with the latest launch of its Half-Rack models. These smaller form factor, half-rack smart amplifiers feature onboard DSP, WebUI, Cloud Connectivity, third-party API control, and more.

Each of the new half-rack models are built with fully routable analog inputs, four amplifier channels with Low-Z, 70V, or 100V selectable by channel and the D units include Dante and AES67 connectivity. All models also boast three different ways of network connection: using the built-in Wi-Fi Access Point, connecting to an existing Wi-Fi network, or using a Local Area Network Ethernet connection.

TASCAM unveiled its MA-BT240 Multifunctional Mixing Amplifier, the latest addition to its Compact Commercial Series. The MA-BT240 was designed for commercial spaces—including retail stores, restaurants, cafes, office environments, educational facilities, and similar spaces—with the ability to switch between low and high amplification impedance, Bluetooth reception for content streaming, a microphone input for convenient paging, ducking capability, and more.

A compact half-rack form factor enables the MA-BT240 to be placed on a table, shelf, or rack mounted with the optional AK-RS05. There's no IP configuration needed because the Dante device is automatically recognized and gets assigned to an IP once you plug into the network. “If the client needs to upgrade, the integrator can come in, click a button, and you can expand on essentially anything, alleviating pressure on the integrator.”

If a room or a zone gets added, all the integrator needs to do is use the existing network that's in place.

Each Dante-enabled PowerZone Connect amplifier has the Dante Ultimo chip built in and delivers up to 4x4 channels at 44.1 and 48 kHz. Cable lengths are extended; multi-channel digital audio is sent over a single Ethernet cable, allowing for a noise-free signal path over long distances with a default latency of 1 millisecond.

Dante allows for more flexibility and scalability in integration projects and simplifies the installation and expansion process. “Plus, Dante is compatible with other Dante-enabled devices, making it easy to integrate with existing systems,” Huber said.

The four PowerZone Connect plus Dante cover 125 to 3000 watts, handling most commercial-based applications. “The cool thing about them is that they're dual impedance, making it flexible for many scenarios. If you want to run a low impedance output for a stage or performance area and want to do an additional two channels or a single channel at 70 volts, you can do that with our four channel amps,” Huber noted. “It becomes a hybrid amp at that point, and with Dante, you can send signals wherever you want.”

Scalable Applications

Similarly, the NQ-GA400P can take analog audio signals, encode them, and distribute them over the Nyquist network. "They are Dante enabled for the higher end of our portfolio for our performance speakers." The new series augments Bose Professional's current line of amplifiers.

The PowerShareX series of adaptable power amplifiers comprise the PSX1204D, PSX2404D, and PSX4804D. Designed to deliver exceptional performance, these smart amplifiers, with Dante digital audio, offer 1200, 2400, and 4800 watts of rated power across four channels, providing the precise power and functionality required for a variety of applications. Building upon the success of the existing PowerShare amplifier range, the PowerShareX models bring even higher power levels and enhanced features, making them the perfect complement to Bose Professional loudspeaker systems.

"These really shine with our performance systems," said Kyte, "The PSX4804D can run any loudspeaker on a single channel. For example, you can run our ShowMatch SMS118 750 watt sub without bridging or losing a channel."

What's in a Name?

The new PowerShareX series shares power. "Currently, our Bose PowerMatch PM8500N is 500 watts times eight channels. But to do more than 500 watts, you had to bridge channels. If you wanted to run the SMS118 750 watt sub, you'd have to bridge two channels, and you'd be losing some watts because it's actually more than you need," Kyte said. "The new PowerShareX amplifiers have higher reservoirs, higher per channel symmetrical handling, and you can asymmetrically run a huge load on channel one and then a small load up to four channels." Dante connectivity to supports up to four digital input channels and four analog inputs for line-level source connections—all within a space-saving 1RU design. "With PowerShareX you're not throwing away any power," he added.

The PowerShareX series is perfect for small performance spaces, houses of worship, and medium to large commercial audio applications such as sports bars or integrated restaurants.

Tumwater High School in Tumwater, WA, has an ambitious and growing Performing Arts Center that needed a powerful and dynamic audio system to match. Back to school: CCI Solutions selects LEA Network Connect Series 

The school’s Performing Arts department hosts everything from plays and musicals to ensemble performances, solo instrument recitals, and vocal/choir and spoken word performances. The main theater has seating for about 200. There are also large classrooms on each side of the theater that can hold an additional 100 each. When needed, the airwalls between the theater and the classrooms can be opened up to accommodate an audience of about 400, making the Tumwater High School the largest venue in the school district.

Mark Pearson, from national AVL systems integration company, CCI Solutions, served as the project lead for the Tumwater installation. Pearson explained that the main space and each side classroom space has its own sound system, but they also needed to work together for larger performances. The main space also required an update of its stage monitor amplification. The high school predominantly uses passive line array elements and monitor enclosures from Martin Audio.

"Our rep firm recommended LEA amps, and it has turned out to be a great experience,” said Pearson. “Van Browne from Brownestone sent us some sample LEA amps to play with, our whole team just kind of fell in love with them. It's always great to discover a high-quality, new product line that fits well into your offerings.

“Because of delivery issues, this was a spec swap, but the high school ended up with a much better amplifier and a more robust system. Which is why we as a company are basically moving away from the other company to all LEA amp solutions for this type of application and many more.”

To cover the spaces adequately, Pearson and the CCI team used a mix of four different Network Connect Series amplifiers from LEA Professional. The system solution included ten individual channels of monitoring ability (a single Connect 352 and two Connect 354 amps), allowing the high school to cover the stage monitoring, but also room to place speakers off stage to support special effects or to power additional floor monitors for larger groups. They also now have a four-channel unit (four zones of 70 Volt with a Connect 84 amp) handling the back of house paging and stage manager announcements. And each side classroom has its own Connect 702 amplifier.

“These amps have an impressive list of features we really like,” added Pearson. “They're networkable and controlled via IP addresses so we can easily access them with an app, and then the ability to have internal DSP in the amp for detailed speaker tunings; and then I also like that they're GPI controllable and the side rooms can be turned on or off depending on the users need."

To simplify the use process, Pearson set up the amps with a series of relays. If one relay is opened up, then the GPI triggers and powers up the amps. They have four relays in use — two for each amplifier. One relay is controlled off the DSP for the main house, and then another relay is controlled from a touch panel in each classroom. If students need to turn on the system for a classroom, they can now power on the system with a single touch, which opens a relay. With a single touch, the amplifiers power-up, a projection screen is lowered, and a protector is turned on—everything is ready to go.

Because of the pandemic and the summer break, the system has not yet been used for a full performance, but the high school is very anxious to get the system in use soon. The team ran several sound tests with various configurations, and everyone is very happy with the quality and headroom of the amplifiers.

"The installation was really smooth; we didn't have any hurdles. That's another plus for LEA, everything is very self-explanatory, and you don't have to be an engineer to walk through the process to program things and get things up and running; it's all very straightforward and logical," said Pearson. "The amps themselves have a good user interface, and the app is beneficial. We had one question about the relays and the GPI interface we weren't sure about, so we called LEA, and we had our answer instantly. They were great to work with. I look forward to many more installations with LEA.”

The new TPU600-G2 builds upon Bogen Communications’ trusted technology and industry expertise showcased in the TPU Series. The TPU Series provides voice-activated muting of music during paging to eliminate the need for manual activation of switches and the use of external relays. The paging channel features automatic output leveling (ALC) as channel input varies, which is particularly important in telephone paging applications. 

It is often said that simpler is always better – and for venues and spaces with minimal audio input requirements, that may be the case. Many are turning to solutions with internal audio processing capabilities, which decrease the footprint of their network while reducing the need for separate components for signal conditioning, audio processing, and amplification.

“With design advancements, almost all amplifiers these days have some level of audio processing built in,” said Sanjay Kulkarni, senior director of amplifier product development at U.S.-based audio manufacturer QSC. “This audio processing includes signal conditioning, loudspeaker voicing, loudspeaker monitoring – for shorts, opens, impedance changes, etc. – as well as loudspeaker protection which happens within the amplifier, as they are directly attached to the speaker.”

With the pandemic changing the way spaces are designed, there has been increased usage of products with integrated amplification, including powered ceiling speakers and surface-mounted speakers. These PoE-powered speakers are excellent examples of the benefit of integrated amplification and receive audio via a network audio transport.

“In this example, the amplifier can be ‘tuned’ to the specific drivers within the speaker to achieve both higher fidelity and higher SPL than is possible via traditional speakers without built-in amplification,” said Tom Lureman, director of engineering and product management with commercial audio solutions provider AtlasIED. “In some cases, the drivers in the speaker can be bi-amped, further improving sound quality while eliminating the need for a passive internal crossover.”

According to some manufacturers, integrated amplification is one of the biggest processing and amplification trends within the residential and commercial audio markets, as seen through the popularity of products like Bluetooth speakers and portable PA speakers. When discussing their needs around audio processing and amplification, clients emphasized products that are flexible, reliable, and can easily be installed and managed in a variety of settings.

Lureman said customers are increasingly asking for “turnkey audio systems rather than separate components that must be piecemealed together. Declining are requests for processing from manufacturer X, amplification from manufacturer Y, and loudspeakers from manufacturer Z. Consequently, many audio manufacturers have shifted their focus on the development of complete systems that simplify installation and optimize performance rather than on individual product specifications.”

Other trends include flexible distribution of power, remote monitoring, and enhanced amplification. According to Kulkarni, flexible distribution of power per channel is becoming the norm to “help increase design efficiency and maximize an amplifier’s available power through all the connected speakers.”

With labor shortages and the pandemic forcing many staff members to work remotely, many clients are looking to secure easy- to-use remote monitoring capabilities that leverage the amplifier to monitor the overall health of the audio sub-system. From those running front-of-house at live venues to those building out the sound landscape within corporate meeting spaces, powered loudspeakers with internal audio processing and amplification built into the loudspeaker cabinet are frequently requested.

Manufacturers that have taken note of these requests are focusing on growing the audio processing capabilities within their products. The use of integrated amplifiers alleviates the possible “unknowns" when using separate equipment and integrators, and end-users are clearly seeing the benefit. “By integrating amplification into products, settings such as EQ/filters and limiters can be dialed in and optimized for that exact configuration, ultimately providing a better sounding and more reliable product that’s easier to set up and maintain for both integrators and end-users,” said Lureman.

Current Technology Options

Bogen Communications heard the functionality requests from clients and designed a suite of new solutions to address the market needs for integrated amplifiers with advanced audio processing capabilities. Its Nyquist product line and Platinum Series amplifiers were designed to handle the stringent demands of modern audio systems.

“These product lines implement new engineering and design technology, greatly reducing the power demands of the amplifiers, offering a greener solution with less power consumption, and a myriad of great features commercial sound contractors have come to expect from Bogen amplifiers,” said John Minnick, Bogen vice president of engineering.

The Platinum Series includes features rarely found in other commercial amplifiers, including five-band parametric equalizer with independent gain, frequency, and Q controls. Bogen also recently launched its Nyquist firmware release, increasing the capabilities for several Nyquist devices, including SIP-compliant endpoints for VoIP phone system paging applications and standalone network managed audio equipment.

QSC has continued to enhance its Flexible Amplifier Summing Technology (FAST) and the core amplifier feedback topology found within its PL380 and CX-Q Series amplifiers through recently awarded patents. This next generation of FAST enhances the overall usability of the technology while removing the need for special wiring connections dependent of particular use cases. These new capabilities will also allow for easy, 1:1 amplifier redundancy.

During the pandemic, AtlasIED introduced Atmosphere, a digital audio system that acts as a comprehensive ecosystem made up of interoperable processors, accessories, and amplifiers. The system offers a powerful, flexible DSP and uncomplicated user interface for enhanced customer control and engagement.

Atmosphere also includes patented ambient noise compensation (ANC) technology. In the past, ANC technology was difficult to integrate and provided limited end-user controls. Atmosphere responds and learns from user inputs, simplifying the overall setup, and uses a patented adaptive filter technology that uses voice in its measurement of the overall noise level without voice-based audio being sent to the Atmosphere processor.

What’s Next?

With manufacturers constantly looking to improve their integrated amplification capabilities, the list of possible future enhancements can sometimes seem never-ending. “In the future, we see the need for higher efficiency amplifiers that minimize loss and maximize the given amplifier power across the design, easy-to-use interfaces, built-in intelligence using machine learning, and real-time data analytics. Essentially cost-per-watt and cost-per-channel,” said Kulkarni. Also, continued enhancements to PoE are allowing for higher levels of product integration within appropriated audio ecosystems.

“As the world becomes increasingly IT-focused and compliant, many established and emerging trends from IT run parallel to the needs of AV,” Lureman noted. These crossover trends, which will only increase within integrated amplification, include remote cloud management, frequent software updates (both free and licensed), and higher power endpoints using PoE++/UPOE.

The What: Nureva is issuing the full release of Voice Amplification Mode for its HDL300 and Dual HDL300 audio conferencing systems. The feature has been in public beta since June. Voice Amplification Mode solves the difficult problem of supporting in-room amplification of the instructor or presenter's voice while simultaneously providing full-room microphone pickup of in-room voices so that everyone can be heard by remote participants. Positive customer feedback during the beta period highlights the immediate value of having a multifunction audio solution that easily and reliably covers both the in-class and remote scenarios, especially with a growing need for flexible, future-proofed systems that can adapt to support hybrid learning models.

The What Else: Teachers at Gilbert Public School in Arizona commented that they are excited that their voices can now be heard clearly both in the classroom and by remote students. This unique capability is made possible by Nureva's patented Microphone Mist technology, which fills a room with thousands of virtual microphones.

The Bottom Line: Voice Amplification Mode is now fully available to all HDL300 and Dual HDL300 customers through Nureva Console by updating their firmware to version 2.4.67 and selecting enable voice amplification in Nureva Console cloud. Once enabled, instructors or presenters use their wireless headset microphone to amplify their voice through the HDL300 speakers so that in-room students or meeting participants can clearly hear. At the same time, their voice is picked up for remote participants via their UC&C client, like Microsoft Teams, for which the HDL300 system is certified.

The What: Extron is shipping the XPA U 3502, a high-performance Energy Star qualified audio power amplifier delivering two 350W channels into 8 ohms or 4 ohms in a 1U, half rack device. It is convection cooled, UL 2043 rated for plenum installation, and includes hardware for rack mount configurations.

The What Else: The XPA U 3502 offers the ability to install high power amplification without using rack spaces for ventilation, conserving precious rack space. It features a Class D amplifier design with power factor correction, ultra-low inrush current, defeatable auto-standby with fast wake up, and Extron's patented CDRS--Class D Ripple Suppression.

The What Else: The XPA U 3502 is the latest entry in Extron's ongoing commitment taking on the challenge to put more high-performance channels in less space.

The What: In celebration of LGBT Pride Month, Manley Labs is launching Manley Voxbox 2021 Pride Edition, a special version of the company’s classic Voxbox Reference Channel Strip with rainbow cosmetics.
