ental & Staging Systems magazine and the International Communications Industries Association, Inc. (ICIA) announced the winners of the first annual Rental & Staging Systems Awards at InfoComm. The 2003 Rental & Staging Systems Awards, designed to recognize the best in the rental and staging and live events arena, were presented at a special awards luncheon Wednesday, June 4 at InfoComm 2003 in Orlando.

David Keene, awards chairman and executive editor of Rental & Staging Systems magazine, was on hand to deliver the 21 awards, which were divided into two categories: best new products introduced in 2002, and best staging for events produced in 2002. The results produced three ties: JBL and Shure tied for best audio product, NEC and Pioneer tied for best plasma; and AVHQ and Staging Solutions both won a staging event award in the large-venue category.

"Having an opportunity to design systems and solutions for an event like the Ford Fall Dealers Meeting doesn't come along everyday," commented Augie Dellapi, senior vice president of AVHQ Show Solutions, after winning an award. "We at AVHQ Show Solutions are extremely pleased to have been chosen by the Awards panel for this prestigious award."

"The Awards program is a critical milestone in the industry," said Vivek Bhaman, director, marketing & operations, Unique Business Systems. "Kudos to ICIA and Rental & Staging Systems magazine for establishing the Rental & Staging Systems Awards. They will help the exemplary products and events stand out from the crowd, and draw the spotlight on the industry. And of course we are thrilled that our CrewManager won the award for the Best Software product. It means so much to us, especially since this represents the collective voice of the users from rental and staging industry,"

After distributing the awards to their respective winners, Keene held up a remaining award with no inscription on it. "I'm saving this for next year. I wish everybody good luck in the 2004 Rental & Staging Systems Awards competition," he said.
