Almo Professional AV E4 Tour Kicks Off

Almo Professional A/V, a value-added distributor serving the needs of professional audiovisual integrators, dealers, and consultants, introduced its E4 AV Tour in New York City this past Tuesday. And though the business climate has been gloomy all year, spirits ran high and hopeful at this debut reseller training and networking event.

The timing was right for just such an event, hitting right before the year end and holidays, which did well to attract hundreds of attendees looking to do the four things promised at the E4 AV Tour: gain education through InfoComm sessions, explore new products and solutions for the AV industry, exchange ideas with colleagues and instructors through networking, and attend an expo for one-on-one time with 20 top manufacturers exhibiting the latest industry products.


Almo E4 digital signage

Almo uses their own digital signage at the E4 event powered by Samsung, Now Micro, and RiseVision. 

The full day of courses--which allowed partners to earn valuable InfoComm CTS Renewal Units--offered a range of topics focusing on business growth for dealers, AV-IT convergence, digital signage for sales professionals, using performance standards as a business strategy, and more.

Almo’s E4 AV Tour affords partners the opportunity for coveted one-on-one time with the industry’s 20 top manufacturers, including NEC, Panasonic, Samsung, Hitachi, LG, Sanyo, Sharp, and more.

Furman demos BlueBolt

Furman does a live demo of BlueBolt, controlling equipment in California from the E4 show floor in New York.

“I thought the Almo E4 AV Tour was a great success,” said Sandra Benedetto, director, pro video sales and product planning for the Professional Sound and Visual Division of Pioneer. “These types of showcases are beneficial for all parties: distributors, manufacturers, resellers, and integrators. They give everyone the opportunity to speak about business needs and business plans in a smaller, more intimate setting. They also provide manufacturers a venue to demonstrate and resellers the chance to view new products and technology. Larger tradeshows are important for the industry as a whole, but smaller events are equally important as they are more focused and strategic.” Pioneer featured its BDP-V6000 professional Blu-ray disc player with BD Live at the E4 Tour. The BDP-V6000 supports high definition Blu-ray discs as well as standard definition DVD media playback in both NTSC and PAL formats to provide flexible, reliable playback of domestic and international customer content in demanding applications.

Attendees also had the chance to meet Jack Cust, the Oakland Athletics’ designated hitter and a New Jersey native, courtesy of Sharp Aquos. I now have my cool autographed trading card, and though this is the first I’d ever heard of him, I may be seeing a lot more of him next year if rumors of his being traded to the Mets are true.

The E4 AV Tour will make its next stop in Anaheim, CA on February 16 and then Chicago, IL on April 7. The tour will then continue to Washington, D.C. and Dallas, TX later in 2010. For more information, visit www.e4avtour.com.
